J2JSmall Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Okay so I am well aware of iTunes and places that sell music, obviously this is where you would get them but what I am asking is where do you keep up with the latest tracks? where do you go to find the latest hits or the top 100 type of thing? I would like to say that the nearest radio station which caters to the more upbeat community keeps up to date with the latest tracks but they dont...I want to mix new with old and it aint hard finding old tracks, its just the new stuff people wanna hear as well.thanks for the help in advance Quote

J2JSmall Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Thanks Cupe, exactly what I was after Quote
Mitch Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I follow artists I like on soundcloud and Facebook, as that's where they usually go off first, and they have lots of free downloads. I also listen to mixtapes from artists I like, as you generally find new tunes in those Beatport and Juno are the normal places I go when I purchase Quote
Kodiak Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Libraries\MusicOn a serious note for me the vast majority comes from Beatport. But like Mitch, Soundcloud profiles and blogs are a great source. Often artists are sending out some free tunes to get a feel for them, or after festival season is done they may put up their remix they've been playing (once it is played out of course) up for download. One of my favourites is Thissongissick.com which has mostly banger type of tunes. They are also a good way of getting a feeling of which way the industry is going. For example Thissongissick is a good barometer of the US market. I am noticing a move to Deep House, Nu Disco, House (along with all the old fave Electro/Progressive/Trap).Free tunes on TSIS on the first page alone.... https://soundcloud.com/nickraymondg/big-sean-feat-ellie-goulding https://soundcloud.com/itskaasi/caroline-street https://soundcloud.com/nickraymondg/party-supplies-going-back-to https://soundcloud.com/nickraymondg/felon-isla-sebastian-carter https://soundcloud.com/nickraymondg/sub-focus-turn-back-time-gold https://soundcloud.com/nickraymondg/que-o-g-bobby-johnson-laredaNot a tune but a 2 hour mix https://soundcloud.com/djsnake-king/dj-snake-essential-mix-bbcThere are heaps of free, legal tunes out there if you look.On a side note, by having these tunes on their blog I have now put down a pre-order for Major Lazer's new EP (a style of music I would not normal listen to, but liked this) due to hearing this tune on TSIS.... https://soundcloud.com/majorlazer/major-lazer-aerosol-can-feat Quote
