Cupe Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 1-3 songs? How do you rate a DJ from 1-3 songs. Is that a typo? Quote
Kodiak Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 So if I come along and play the latest popular banger, that's my 1 song done. Can I have the prize now or later? Quote
Pub2Club Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 1-3 songs? How do you rate a DJ from 1-3 songs. Is that a typo?Basically anywhere from from 5-15 minutes worth of songs. Or even more depending on what the bar would allow. Quote
Cupe Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 1-3 songs is different to 5-15 minutes.I get what you're doing, and it's a great idea for someone that wants their first crack at playing to a crowd, but the details need a slight fine-tune. Quote

This way when I approach the bar I already have something lined up. Quote
Cupe Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Like I said it's a great idea, and it's perfect for those guys wanting to get a taste of what it's like behind the decks.I can see this working, but for it to be successful you need to start with a more feasible and solid grounding.Fine-tune the details in the first step then you won't have to worry about all the bullshit later. Get a plan together and present it with clarity initially and the rest will fall into place. Quote
wrxfiend Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I would also state what genres they are looking for. What i think of when i hear the word dj is prob quite diff to many others.Just my 2 centsGreat idea though, here in perth i havent a clue how to get a trial run at clubs? But then i havent tried that hard. Lol Quote
