PirateJim
This is a complete noob question, but I have to ask... I've been out of the DJ scene for about 4 years now and I'm djing at a bar in a few weeks. I'll using CDJ's with CD's (no laptop).So... ff I rock up to this bar and the guy/girl before me has been using a laptop, do I need to change any of the leads or inputs/outputs to switch everthing back to the CDJ's? Or can I just put a CD in and go for it?
ThatPartyGuy
a couple of times i brought my laptop and T1 to a club and all i did was plug in the rca cables into a spare channel on the mixer.if the person does the same you dont have to worry about unplugging cables. just figure out which is the channels the CDJ's are on.saying that... theirs always a chance they have a different configuration. Mitch
If they are using a controller it will be like thatpartydj said. However, If they are using timecode they will unplug the cdjs and route them through a sound card of their own. If they change the setup they should be changing it back at the end of their set, so you shouldn't have to be worrying about it too much. However when I'm on the computer I'll grab a diagram of how timecode is wired up so you can at least be familiar with what's going on
