ADJF's unofficial original launch birthday is TODAY

So back in 2006 I had a little idea..

I saw that the back-then djforums.com had a section for Australia tucked away in 'Other Countries' and had a chat with one of the head admin.

I pitched the idea for an AUSdjforums.com and to them it sounded as feasible as I thought it was myself.

I purchased the URL and launched an ugly looking thing, running it all on my own at that stage.

It picked up a little interest over the next year or so, then I ran out of time to manage it and the site went down.

Jump to 2008, and the unofficial re-launch of ADJF went down on the 28th of September. I spent the next few months tweaking shit for a 2009 public launch.

We were on an old custom PHP-Nuke CMS back then, and about two years after official launch myself and a programmer from the Netherlands worked to port it over to a standalone phpBB3 forum. It was the longest 50+ hours of my life, with us working in shifts to get everything done, sleeping while the other worked and vice versa. In the end we managed to complete the task with a few errors to tidy up.

Stepping up to today and we have a tight community, with great regulars dropping in and out, a growing team of staff and the quality face of ADJF changing for the better constantly.

We've set-up clothing, got our own 24/7 radio, had some mad competitions, pumped the world full of posts on our growing social media and had some epic fucking parties.

Big ups to the next 1000 years of ADJF's reign.
