lloydc
djm-900SRTYup, it’s basically the Serato version of the Traktor-enables DJM-900nexus. Let the battle for the DJ booth commence…Announced today, the Pioneer DJM-900SRT is the first Serato DVS mixer to hit the market that isn’t made by Rane, marking a major departure for Serato. It also heralds potentially a big shake-up in the pro DJ booth, as it is essentially a Serato version of the current Traktor-enabled club standard, the Pioneer DJM-900nexus.The Pioneer DJM-900SRT – one of two mixers announced today designed to work with the also-announced new Serato DJ 1.5 DVS-enabled software – indicates Serato’s clear intent to both broaden the reach of its DVS user base, and to counter Traktor’s inroads into Pioneer-dominated pro DJ booths. It has six Color FX (Space, Dub Echo, Gate/Compressor, Noise, Crush, Filter), 13 Beat FX with X-PAD control, fader start and built-in switchable 3-band equaliser (+6dB to -26dB) and 3-band isolator (-6dB to – ∞dB).Sounds familiar? Yup, it is basically the DJM-900nexus in a Serato edition… and that’s clearly the point! Interesting times ahead…• The Pioneer DJM-900SRT will be available from October 2013.
