Subscape’s new single, “I Need You” manages to stay soulful as it drops its soul-shaking bass. Combined with the vocals, the light, playful melody is initially tranquil. As the bass builds however, the vocals quickly turn instigative. With an outburst of emotion, they sound as if they are commanding the audience to rise to their feet and throw themselves into the air. The drop is as heavy as you would hope, yet it doesnt detract at all from the depth of the track. Instead, it strengthens the vocals and maintains a classy, but rowdy personality.”
