Yo yo

So i'm thinking of moving on from using CDs and just using USB sticks for certain gigs. Just wondering what everyones experience is with them, if there are certain brands to avoid buying, and certain brands which are highly rated among djs. I have recordbox already and am all sweet with that. I am generally doing 3-4 hour straight sets.

Also, do you need a USB in every player or can you use one and link it like people do with lappys?

Cheers!

Yeah the joint i usually play has the link set up so it wouldnt be an issue, but I would obviously have spare usbs just incase haha.

Yep you can link them just like laptops.

As for brands they are all pretty much the same thing. I'd Just suggest getting ones where the lids have spot to clip an ADJF lanyard on, and the lid doesn't fully detach. Those two things together make them harder to lose :D

Also I always have 3 identical usbs.

I like the ones that have an inbuilt cap, helps with dust, moisture etc.

The little sandsisks have always been fine.

Have herd some 3.0 sticks have had issues with cdjs and not sure if im right but i think its suggested to not go over 32gb size.

I have a sandisk 32gb usb (mini) it's only the size of the USB connector plus like 5mm lol but I haven't had any issues with it ever and I'm also running it via link.

Contemplated getting a 64 sd card so there is no possible chance of anyone taking it out/bumping it by accident
