no CD drive either, i know it's not a big thing these days but i've got countless bits of gear and software thats all installation via disc first and when your paying 3k and above for a computer the last thing you want is to shell out another wad for a cd drive.

thats probably my only negative really, i think it looks sick as, as long as its not chrome....... (is it?) if it's more of a black chrome that would be rad.

One thing to take not of, when steve jobs left apple before they made a "mac pro" that looks extremely similar. It failed big time.

History repeating itself?

There are hundreds of threads bashing the new pro for alot of valid reasons, I can see the point of the new one but they have defiantly switched from the Professional market to the "Pro" consumer market.

First announced in June, Apple's redesigned Mac Pro starts at $2,999 and comes in several different configurations. The entry-level version includes a 3.7 Ghz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs, 12 GB of memory, and 256 GB of PCIe-based flash storage.

For 3k you sure aren't getting much bang for your buck.... For something thats apparently a workstation I would have hoped to get abit more.

Also apparently the graphics cards aren't upgradable. The storage is if you can actually find a ssd with the special apple connecters.

I just realised that's 3k american, so it's gona be elevated by the dollar then elevated again by apples aus fee.

Could be closer to 4k? Not sure.

I get what you guys are saying though, I just am not at all a fan of some of there decisions to do with both this and there other products.

I still love the 13' macbooks though, you can't buy a better 13" laptop.
