Boss101 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Does anybody use Mashup 1.5 to create mash-ups? Is it worth a download and to buy it?Also my Mixed In Key only shows 10% of the keys from the music I scanned in Traktor.. Any tips? Quote
Mitch Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Ccanning music in traktor doesn't mean you've run them through mixed in key.You need to make sure you've analysed everything in mixed in key, then do a ID tag refresh in traktor for it to show up.And no, I don't use Mashup personally - most people tend to use a more fully featured DAW, such as Ableton, Logic Pro, FL Studio etc. However, you can read more about Mashup here - viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8604(also moved topic to digital & software - left shadow topic in production) Quote
Boss101 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 I scanned the music in Mixed In Key but I'm not sure if I have done the ID tag refresh. I'll double check.Didn't know there was already a topic. Sorry. Quote
GREMM1S Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Sometimes even the refresh wont work, you will have to delete the tracks from a given library traktor/rekordbox etc and re add them. The process should always be MIK and then put into a program. Also i haven't herd of anyone using mashup. Quote
yizzle Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I've used Mashup. Didn't really like it personally. I use FL Studio. It can do everything Mashup can and more much more.Granted, Mashup is cheaper. Quote
Boss101 Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Maybe it isn't showing because I already had the music into my Itunes library, scanned it then it was automatically in Traktor.I've had a quick shot at FL Studio. It was a bit advanced for me but I might give it another shot. Quote
GREMM1S Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 FL studio is not very friendly to the inexperienced user.I won't compare the capabilities of both but ableton is generally considered the easiest to start using, also alot more tutorials and what not for it.Sony acid is also another cheapy that to be honest was quite easy and decent when i used to use it. yizzle Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 ^ Acid is a good idea.imo, FL is actually really easy to use as a beginner if you want it for mashups and stuff. Its like a lot of DAW's though. They cater for very basic use and very advanced use.Maybe Just try a few demos of all of em Boss101, see which one feels right. Quote
Boss101 Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 I've heard Ableton a few times so I'll see how I go with that. Thanks. Quote
yizzle Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Ableton is hugely popular at the moment. my advice, just try them all out and see what you really like. not what everyone is talking about at the moment.See what seems natural for what you want to do. because there are..a lot of good mash up artist on Ableton & FL & etc.a lot of good producers on both DAW's too. Boss101 Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Still having trouble with Traktor and showing my BPM and the key.I had to reset my computer last night, so I put all my music back onto it today. Then analyzed it through Mixed In Key. It's not showing any BPM or keys anymore. Any tips? Quote
GREMM1S Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Check your settings in MIK make sure they save the key info to the key and comment fields, also ensure you arent moving where your files are stored so the programs cant find them.Umm check in traktor that it is showing the key and bpm fields in your sort options.Delete all the files in the MIK library and re analyse.
