Just how big is EDM in year 2013? Try $100,000 a night big, and in some cases, upwards of $500,000 – $1 million gargantuan. At least that’s according to Celebrity Net Worth, who compiled a list of this year’s “Richest Electronic DJs in the World” based on all music sales, merchandise, touring revenue, licensing, endorsements, real estate, royalties and more.

Holding down the top spot is Tiesto, who upped his net worth from $65 million in 2012 to $75 million in 2013. Exploding into the second and third slots this year were Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, who, thanks to the record-breaking success of Random Access Memories, both checked in at a cool $60 million. Other names in the top 10 included trance heavyweights Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren, along with the face of BBC Radio 1 Pete Tong and 2001′s top rated DJ, John Digweed (all of whom ranked in 2012′s top 10).

Of course, it has to be noted that “DJ” Pauly D came in at #21 with a net worth of $15 million. Sadly, the Jersey Shore star is actually one of the most in-demand DJs out right now, booking over 130 gigs a year and raking in six figure salaries per set. Among other frequently hated names, we had David Guetta at $30 million, Steve Aoki at $28 million, Deadmau5 at $18 million, Skrillex at $16 million (doubled from last year), Calvin Harris at $13 million, Avicii at $12 million, Afrojack at $11 million, and the recently discontinued trio of Swedish House Mafia at $10 million a pop.

Some surprising names excluded from this list include mainstage regular Fedde Le Grand and Clarity megastar Zedd (among others I’m sure). Check out the full top 50 below and leave your thoughts in the comments.

don't know why they have included daft punk separately at number 2 and 3, and also deadmau5.

Thomas Bangalter is a DJ so he could be included I guess

Yeah exactly, daft punk is the biggest tip off it's fake.

The only real big money maker in music is touring these days, and we all know how little of that DP has done.

That doesn't mean they haven't invested their money wisely.

Being successful financially is more about what you do with the money you make / how you invest.

This list appears to be based on net worth, not just money made from DJing/touring.

dj pauly d...

probably only in it cause of the money he's made off of tv shows and stupid shit like that

He makes that much not just from the touring he does, he also has a residency in Las Vegas at a major club, DJ AM used to have the residency and his TT's are still at the same club, plus he has his own line of vodka in the states, that would get a bit of cash through

This list appears to be based on nothing lol, half those artists don't even disclose their income.

What do DP own or have shares in then?

There is an endless list of things they could have, they could be co-owners of a record label, they could even be drug dealers, who knows, but the fact is they have been very smart with their money, and they haven't gone off and blown it away like a lot of superstars do these days
