How fast is the NBN? How will it affect us DJ's?

Hey guys, saw a lot of chatter in OT about internet speeds thought I'd bring this up in DJ Headquarters to see what us DJ's think of this. First of all, a side-by-side comparison of the two NBN plans to happen;

Second of all, I'd like to know what you think faster internet speeds is going to hold for you as a DJ. For me, moving forward with our internet could mean massive collaborations with artists around the globe happening in realtime.

The NBN is a piece of shit essentially, its a half arsed attempt for a country like us who should have much better infrastructure.

But even then its a massive upgrade on what we have now.

I really don't care for it.

It comes 700m from our house, but we wont see any of the speed because there keeping it separate from the copper network

Nor do they have any intention to put it up our road.

I reckon that's a bluff i can't see them changing the existing system.

More than likely by the time the NBN is finished Telstra's wireless network will be quicker anyway.

Some of the Coalition's other policy's are better Labor's it's a shame they are shooting themselves in the foot with the NBN.

Either way i think we will see Gillard gone.

How he just decides that will be more than enough with 0 background in IT is a little worrying, if hes doing that with the NBN what other polices is he just deciding he knows everything (nothing). Music isn't really big enough to get much more benefit from fatter pipes. You can already stream 320kb mp3 now so faster net isn't going to make much of a difference.

What's surprising is the coalitions policy considering Malcolm Turnbull's in charge of this and his previous history.

I think it would open up a lot for video streaming though, alot of clubs would try to do live feeds from aussie clubs like you see for the overseas guys.

I dont think it would change anything to much, but its a good thing if it happens, 25mbps is stupid, 1000 is where its at!
