BeatLeSS Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Hey guys, saw a lot of chatter in OT about internet speeds thought I'd bring this up in DJ Headquarters to see what us DJ's think of this. First of all, a side-by-side comparison of the two NBN plans to happen; http://howfastisthenbn.com.au/Second of all, I'd like to know what you think faster internet speeds is going to hold for you as a DJ. For me, moving forward with our internet could mean massive collaborations with artists around the globe happening in realtime. Quote
GREMM1S Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 The NBN is a piece of shit essentially, its a half arsed attempt for a country like us who should have much better infrastructure. But even then its a massive upgrade on what we have now. Quote
Gandy Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 unless the coalition get in, then it will be a slightly better piece of shit instead of alot better of a piece of shit Quote
SolDios Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I really don't care for it.It comes 700m from our house, but we wont see any of the speed because there keeping it separate from the copper networkNor do they have any intention to put it up our road. Quote
GREMM1S Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 unless the coalition get in, then it will be a slightly better piece of shit instead of alot better of a piece of shitI reckon that's a bluff i can't see them changing the existing system.More than likely by the time the NBN is finished Telstra's wireless network will be quicker anyway. Gandy Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 i think you are over-estimating abbots intelligencehe lost my vote when he publicly stated this:“We are absolutely confident that 25 Mbs is going to be enough, more than enough, for the average household” Quote

Gandy Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 yeah i know right... i was voting coalition until this, both are fucked in the head lol. How he just decides that will be more than enough with 0 background in IT is a little worrying, if hes doing that with the NBN what other polices is he just deciding he knows everything (nothing). Either way there both fucked in the head, i just dont want our technology set back another 10 years.i just dont understand how as a developed country we have such shit internet, so annoying Quote
GREMM1S Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Yeah it's a joke in this country, both parties and leaders are pathetic anyway. Quote

Kodiak Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Music isn't really big enough to get much more benefit from fatter pipes. You can already stream 320kb mp3 now so faster net isn't going to make much of a difference. What's surprising is the coalitions policy considering Malcolm Turnbull's in charge of this and his previous history. GREMM1S Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Well policies regarding the NBN which is the top is really on topic. But that said we should try and minimise politics and bullshit on ADJF, i come on here to escape that shit! Quote
