skyblue
Hey everyone, whenever we purchase a new piece of equipment we always try our best to research what is best for our needs and will give us the longest life. so I thought we could choose a piece of equipment that has failed us in the past someway and list it along with the faults that we found with it. ill go first,What? MixerBrand? BehringerSerial number? VMX 100 2 channel Reson for purchasing? First mixer it was cheapProblem? Bpm counters were constantly out since I taught myself how to mix I tried to use them as a guide instead of my ears, It took me alot longer to lean how to mix. Poor sound qualityPoor component qualityHas it put me off the brand? No its an entry level mixer and the mixer still works going to give it to my nephew to play with

CBG
hate to tell you mate but none of wat you hav listed is 'faulty' by definition. bpm are rarely correct unless on a pc.and its a well known fact that behringer build with shit parts therefore produce poor sound quality.unfortunately u got wat u paid 4 mate.iv been 4tunate so far
skyblue
JOk so the forum title is not what I was trying to get at. Your right the behringer mixer was not faulty however it was not what was advertised and therefore I felt letdown, I agree I did get what I paid for as I said in the post that it was a cheap entry level mixer. To you this may seem silly however to people who are looking to purchase there first set up maybe very valuable, are you saying that you have never ever purchased anything and it did not live up to your expectations? Everyone hasade a bad choice at one time or another but sometimes people are too proud to admit that they made a mistake...
wazza
@ SkyBlue.....I think this is a good topic.....as it can give a new dj a insight into what can go wrong and how to fix it...@ CBG....you are right ...you get what you pay for( pay cheep & get cheepBUT..its not just the cheep that can have fault by design WHAT..????..turntable BRAND..???..Technic's 1200 mk2 Reson for purchasing..???..was the best Turntable at the time Problem..???..Most off these fault's are from where & tearbut because Technic's know about these problems & have not done anything in the Design about them in 20 years....I will put it as faults1).. the Ground & RCA cables always fuck-out on the 1200's2).. the feet always fall of on the 1200's3).. the on/off dial switch is just glued to a shaft....over time can brake & the shaft will drop to the bottom off the turntableall off these are easy to fix but will have to pull apart the 1200 to fix them

CBG
wow, out of all the products around, I was least expecting to see a 1200 in here. I'm gunna go ahead and assume this is an isolated incident? To skyblue, tbh mate I have been very fortunate. I do a lot of research before purchasing products.I think once I had to send a phone back because the mic cut out sometimes. Thats about it really. skyblue
Has anyone had any problems with denon before? I have a couple of 3700's and they have done very well so far, I would have loved the pioneer 1000 mk3's but at the time could not afford to splash the extra cash. I think the only problem I've had is there not as simple to use as the pioneers however you get used to it. Cbg sounds like you've got some awesome equipment! I wish I could afford the best but paying off a home loan you sometimes have to settle for second or third best and hope for the best. Jaytee you would know the feeling of wishing you could afford the top of the line and not knowing if the other brands will fail you.
tubby
7 years of regular use, setup, pull-down, hardly surprising when an RCA craps itself. it is a bit of a limit of the design though, if they just put female RCA points and you plugged yourown male RCA's in it might last a little longer. I got the RCA leads replaced on my decks cos it fell off a table when still plugged in, and that's the sort of abuse a working deck might take
