How it works

-Register

-Go to Syndey / Bris / Melb on interview date

-Have a 3-5 minute interview

-If you are lucky you get the opportunity to progress onto training & performance

-They have a club night after the training. You win by a combination of how many tickets you sell & how good your set is

Im going to submit a wildcard mix in the late stages which means we can play on the day and can still potentially win.

You just dont get the training, which the likes of you Mitch wouldnt need anyway, probably more likely to get in this way than the normal way who are just looking for particular types of people.

Yer I was going to aim down the same line - submit a mix and rack up a bunch of plays on it then hope I get wildcard.

However, if its like last year you needed to rock up to the interview to be able to submit a wildcard I think.

Oh right that sucks, i went to the interviews in the very first Yourshot, spent like 5 hours lining up for a 1 minute interview, they don't give two shits about you, your music or passion etc, merely if you fit the specified stereotypes and the quota of each they need.

Still wouldn't discourage anybody from having a crack, merely competing in Yourshot will guarantee you a foot in the door in your local scene.

The club i play it is literally 80% yourshot djs, one was so surprised when i told him i didnt do yourshot, he was like "wow how did you get gigs then?", fucking the hard work way lol mixing all the time and harassing promoters.
