Boss101
Hey everybody,I'm looking at maybe buying a DDJ-SX. I just want to use it when I'm at home and just muck around on it when I'm bored.I have never used any equipment like this so I need help. What other equipment will I need to use it? Is it easy to learn on?Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!!
GREMM1S
Obviously you will need a computer, headphones and some form of speakers, you won't need amazing equipment to start out.Keep in mind the DDJ SX is fairly top of the line for a controller, might be better to look at something cheaper and simpler to begin with? addystah
I'd recommend the Mixtrack or Mixtrack 2 from Numark to start off. All you really need is Virtual DJ, Traktor or Serato and you can start mixing.
lloydc
they are a pretty sweet controller.you'll need a laptop and some speakers to be rockin.
Boss101
Thanks for all the help.Do they come with all the cables I will need and software?
GREMM1S
Will come with software and USB cable, i dare say you will need some audio cables or adapaters depending on what speakers you use.
SolDios
Id deffs recommend the mix track pro 2 over the DDJ-SX for a first controller hands down.As for cables, it depends on the speakers:"General Computer speakers"- RCA to 3.5mm line with a 3.5 double female adapter on the end."Home Theatre" - Set O' RCA"Monitors"- RCA to XLR
GREMM1S
I thought you would recommend the denon?
AlexJ
I thought you would recommend the denon?i too am confusedyer the sx will set you back a fair bit for first controller. maybe something like a t1 or something would be a better bet as the price point is much lower
Boss101
Thankyou!I like the looks of the T1. Reading a bit about it now.
Boss101
I'm thinking I might look for a DDJ-T1 instead of the SX. Thanks for the tip. I've also got a HDMI cable that plugs into my computer? Does that mean if I Plug my DDJ into my computer that sound will come through my surround sound system and the TV?
Mitch
No it won't. You need cables to go direct from the controller to the surround sound system. RCA (red and white plugs) cable from the controller to surround sound unit should do the trick
