There is only like 1 quality post a day. :fuckdat:

That is a highly outrageous statement.

And if you think that's the case, why not simply contribute more yourself?

Beat me to it cupe

Registering a while ago doesn't mean he knows enough about DJ'ing to actively respond to complex questions

But there's nothing stopping you from doing music reviews, event reviews, grabbing articles from the web, starting your own topical conversations, providing ideas for networking, talking to DJ stores, talking on facebook, commenting on articles, checking out gear at shops, answering in threads, adding to conversations etc etc etc etc

As much as you are coming across in the wrong tone, we all agree.

Everyone here is behind ADJF and wants to see it grow in a positive way.

I'm attending a "producer's guild" meeting tommoro night in Perth, Will be repping my ADJF hoodie, and will gauge interest for the site. Hopefully i can sway some learned people over to the forum.

Oxy if you're free we should meet up and go together.

Um, I would love to, but I will be with other fellow ADJF members on the Gold Coast :megusta:

what about a monthly, or fortnightly ADJF podcast/mixtape?

Each one showcases a different member.

Could utilise everybody's fans and following whilst directing it through ADJF.

Sounds good, monthly wouldn't be great cause there would be a few people who would want to be a part of it, unless you broke it down to each genre and 1 person did 1 of each, does it cost anything to set up a podcast?

Well realistically you wouldn't want the same person doing one too often, and not everyone has to the time to make these very often so i thought monthly would work better and would get more hype than if there was one every week or every second week.

Would be good to work both ways, support ADJF and the members own projects.

ADJF Podcast - 001: Featuring DJ Dennis.

Not sure what they cost to setup properly though iTunes, i know of many people who use any combination of itunes, youtube, soundcloud and just file hosting to distribute theirs.

We couldn't even get enough mixes to go on a constant rotation on the radio with no timeframe to submit them

how are you going to be able to ensure something as regular as what you're suggesting?

A lot of these sorts of things are good suggestions, but they die in the ass.

Also between me and the boss (Mitch) we barely have enough spare hours in the day to manage everything

We do what we can where we can but we need the communities support so we can support the community

All very valid points, would personally volunteer some time for something like this, i never bothered with submitting radio sets as it is a very small and already aware pool of listeners aka you guys.

By presenting an actual podcast product in the form of most likely 30 minutes i think there would be more motivation, there doesnt have to be a time frame either.

Say next week 4 people submit mixes, you just allocate those for a particular week, getting them organised in advance as opposed to trying to scramble something together every fornight/week etc.

I will look into the proper podcast systems tonight.

GREMMIS, I have been thinking about an ADJF podcast idea for a few months now (basically the whole year)

Still figuring out how to go about it exactly and getting technicals down - however there is the user participation side of it, which we haven't really seen enough of with the radio to know if this would work or not.

EDIT: Gremmis I also already know how to code the XML to get a proper podcast to show up in iTunes.

I like the idea of 1 podcast a month, featuring a different artist and possibly me/the artist/someone doing a short vocal intro or something for it then mostly mixing.

I'm going to have a bit more of a think then there may be a thread in the near future for some user participation

Yeah man certainly keen, also happy to do the processing and put it all together.

Kind of like the ugly show, but i think the monthly time frame works best.

Keep chatter to a minimum, just do a quick intro and promo of adjf and then introduce the dj and genre.

Probably stick to 30 minutes to keep it quick and easy.

Also try and use it as a leverage to get more guys interested, ask around to see who is keen to do a mix for a website.

Maybe you guys could accept donations and those donations go into buying gear which can be given away in competitions such as making a video promo/sound track for the site.
