Otto Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I'm aware there are a bunch of horrible club DJs, but what is the 'standard' for good club DJs / can anyone link me to a mix that's at that standard? Quote
GREMM1S Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 For most clubs you have to mix fairly tight, far more important to nail the right track selection though. If you are a sydney lad soho's saturday usual suspects has a soundcloud page with various live sets from their residents. Quote
Otto Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 Sorry, talking about House. And thank you for that! Listening to some of em now Quote
GREMM1S Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Like phrasing and key matching alongside obviously beatmatching will be very high especially in places like the cross and sydney, but alot to do with who you know etc.Alot of clubs have back bars and things for upcoming djs to practice. Quote
legunner Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 It goes into two ways:Do you produce? Yes > Are your productions good? > Yes > Some leniency will be shown but you should still know how to dj very well. > No > Learn to mix very tightlyNo> Learn to mix very tightlyBottom Line: Learn to mix very well and keep your song selection banging and you won't have a problem. A producer with a couple of decent tracks to back him up will be shown a bit of leniency because of his skills in other departments. Quote
