AUSTRALIAN DJ FORUMS

Hey guys and gals,

been a while since i've been on here... also been a while since i've DJ'ed :?

i used to be the resident at a bar / club (now closed) that was one of those cheap places where a starting DJ can get his foot in the door.

now moving up to where big acts have been playing and working a 11-2 slot on Australia day, mainly a house / electro / occational top 40's stuff.

i'm currently rushing through my music collection as well as looking up new tunes and thrashing my controller for some last minute practice.

Any advice about playing at a bigger club? (besides obvious of should of practice more haha :teef: )

thanks guys and gals :)

Well 11 -2 is the main slot so have all your anthems ready, Dont you worry child, sweet nothing etc.

Just have a few different types of music ready, big room. commercial/mashup, harder stuff, bit of trap and dub if it gets wild, just have all your bases covered.

lol whats the name of the club?

Also watch your levels/eqing on a big system.

Alot of places will have too much treble so dont double up the high and thrash everyones ears.

i see what i was missing...

a couple of drinks and some stuffing around and i'm back on track :P

gona rock up early to see about the setup. been behind the booth enough but never bothered to check the setup. from what i remember a couple of 1000's mkII or III's and a 900 mixer (could be wrong on that one).

Pretty sure its 1000's and an 800 there :thumright:

fairly standard.

If your taking your controller you can just plug the output from the mixtrack into one of the spare channels.

Is there a DJ on before/after you?

I can give you a hand/tips on changeover if there is someone before you; the first trans will be a bit different as your dealing with 2 mixer interfaces but it's nothing to stress about if you've got it under control and know your stuff which i'm sure you do
