Seamlessly navigating a course between UK Funky, bashment, hip hop, dancehall and moombahton in his sets, the London-based DJ, producer and mixtape specialist does so with a flawless ear for a tune, never skimping on the bass and always effortlessly working any crowd he plays to.

Dub Phizix

Manchester based Drum and Bass producer Dub Phizix began his obsession with music over 20 years ago. Inspired along the way by a diverse collection of artists ranging from The Yardbirds to A Tribe Called Quest, through to Photek and Bugz in the Attic. Dub Phizix, (or George to his mum) would spend hours annoying his neighbours with a Guitar, a Tape Deck and his Dad's collection of 7" Records and i

n 2000 made their lives even harder when he began making Drum and Bass.

10 years into his career of music construction and Dub Phizix is an accomplished producer having made music in a variety of styles for MTV, BBC, Nokia and 4Music. Dub Phizix has released music on high profile and respected labels such as Exit, Commercial Suicide, Soul:R, Critical, Dispatch and Ingredients with Mixmag calling his music 'Essential material'

2011 has seen the total domination of the Drum and Bass scene from a tune called 'Marka'. Penned by Dub Phizix alongside regular collaborator Skeptical with guest vocals from Strategy (of Broken English), 'Marka' adhered to no known recent stylistic formulas. A rare vocal treat in Drum and Bass, 'Marka' marries staccato dancehall like rhythms with slamming bass hits and Strategys unintelligible but potent rhymes blast this off kilter anthem into other worlds. True underground Drum and Bass in 2011 will be remembered for the impact 'Marka' has had on this music.

Dub Phizix has also collaborated with Future Cut, Marcus Intalex, Loxy, MC DRS, and Stray and has remixed for Panjabi MC, Skittles and Chimpo. His music is played nightly by high profile DJs such as dBridge, Goldie, Marky, Fabio, Marcus Intalex, S.P.Y, Spectrasoul and many more.

Dub Phizix DJ sets have been in high demand throughout the UK and Europe including guest performances at high profile club nights like Fabric, A Bunch of Cuts, Soul:ution, Exit Records and Hospitality. Although he may be a fresh face to many, Dub Phizix' DJ sets always display his depth of knowledge of what makes a great Drum and Bass tune, mixing up often neglected classics with the freshest upfront material available to anyone. His sought after guest mixes for Kmag, DnBtv, Example Magazine and Broken Audio have caused a stir across drum and bass forums in the last year.

Dub Phizix has much anticipated releases in the coming months on Exit Records, Creative Source, Commercial Suicide, Innerground, Samurai Music and more. 2011 may be the year that the world truly discovered Dub Phizix, but 2012 is set to be the year he reaches his full potential and blazes an innovative trail across the history of Drum and Bass music

It’s a bass

-heavy brew that’s hard to argue with, as his track record proves: as a DJ he’s held down residencies at Fabric and YoYo, and shared the decks with the likes of Mark Ronson, Toddla T, David Rodigan, Wiley, Sinden, Dillon Francis and Jackmaster, while his productions skills have seen him tapped for a remix of Mad Decent’s Schlachthofbronx and helped him become one of the key players on the fast-rising moombahton scene, bringing his distinct bashy vibe to the new tropical bass genre.
