overit Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Anyone else been updated to this whale yet?Normally I dont struggle with change but this update has twisted my melons a bit.Too much change for no good reason IMO.Comments? Quote
LabRat Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I've had it for a while and it took me a good 10mins to work it all out. It's not bad once you get your head around it. My library looks cleaner with it so I like it haha Quote
overit Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 I'm finding it really annoying how when I search my library it brings up this useless column on the right hand side which I can't drag and drop from.and when I go to see my whole library by choosing to see "songs" I can no longer see my playlists. It means when I get a new song and want to drag and drop it into several playlists at once I cannot without using the dumb arrow system they've added.Workaround? Quote
Kodiak Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 You might be doing it this way, not sure.... But I right click > add to playlist > select playlistI am coming round to it. Was a shock at first, but I now like the way search works. I do miss not seeing covers in the song listing though. Quote
Mitch Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 You can switch it back so it looks pretty much identical to the old layout. Will give instructions when I get home Quote
lloydc Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 i've heard about this new update, but itunes is a bit like adobe for me... lots of updates, but i never update.installing new version now to see what the fuss is all about. Quote
Tomy Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Absolute fucking rubbish that update. ruined itunes for me. Quote
overit Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 Absolute fucking rubbish that update. ruined itunes for me.^at least i'm not the only one.also: bumping mitch for those instructions brah. Quote
Mitch Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 firstly click songs up the top to take it back to the listing stylethen go view -> show sidebarthat should make it look mostly like it used to Quote
overit Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 ^worx well.Still can't believe they would hide something so important as part of an update.Whales. Quote
GREMM1S Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Did itunes actually manage to get even worse? Quote
Mitch Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 there is nothing wrong with itunes.just people who don't like/adjust to change very well Quote
GREMM1S Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 What the new version or the old one?Because it has always been the downfall of apple products, piece of shit software. Quote
Mitch Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 nothing wrong with the new or old software if you know how to use it properly / effectively?Sorts all my music into artist / album folders and renames the track how i want it to according to id3 tags. can import to rekordbox from it. does the job. for me anyway Quote
GREMM1S Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Not that at all, it's just painful software. You would be one of the few to not be annoyed with it.I had an old samsung mp3 players, and that did a better job years ago then itunes manages. Quote
Kodiak Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 iTunes fan here too. Have tried all the major PC rivals and none deal with big libraries, easy to use/view, and I really can't live without the "genius" features. Quote
overit Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 yer agreed.itunes hasnt really changed. It's just that with that latest update they hid the sidebar (which I never knew I could hide) but they didnt tell us. So I thought they had massively changed the GUI without any warning. The sidebar is the most important element of itunes as it allows me to drag and drop a new song into multiple playlists with no fuss. It took Mitch to show me how to put the sidebar back. Now all is well again.I just dont see why they changed my preferences with an update - freaked me out a bit. Quote
Gandy Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 id have to say itunes is definitely the easiest to sort my music with as well, it plugs into almost everything which means once you spend the time and and organise your itunes library and set it up how you want, then its done foreverim an organised freak when it comes to my stuff id hate to have to re-do that everytime, and as mitch said while it does not directly plugin into rekordbox you can simply drag and drop from itunes Quote
RichoKidd Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 I've honestly never hated something more in my lifee! Quote

WTF change your preferences with an update??!Haven't used this but heard it's not too bad http://www.mediamonkey.com/Doesn't sync properly with SSL tho which I use a lot so stick with iTunes for now until I can find an alternative.. Quote
Kodiak Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Wtf... Too much load? You whales need to upgrade from a Commodore 64! Quote
Mitch Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 This. Computers are cheap and powerful nowadays. There are far worse coded programs than iTunes Quote
