Bennyj
Hey guys just after some opinions/advice as I'm a newbie to the world of DJing. I'm thinking about purchasing a Numark mixdeck quad 4 channel universal DJ system, and I was wondering if they are any good ? or if not what would you recommend that has the same capabilities? OxyKon
It also depends on what sort of setup you are looking at, I'm assuming your starting out on a controller? A good little mixer that I started out on is the Stanton SA3 which is a simple 2ch mixer
Bennyj
I'm still looking around at the moment, I haven't actually made my mind up as to which way I'm headed, but I do like the idea of been able to mix cd's and mix from a usb/laptop as well... From what I've seen the Numark mixdeck seems to be the only one with both capabilities unless I've overlooked another product?
Bennyj
It'll be my first set up as well and I have a budget of about $1,200 maybe $1,300.. The other way I was thinking is to get a Behringer DJX750 4-Channel DJ Mixer and then maybe run a couple Numark NDX900 Multimedia Players if I can get them cheap enough... OxyKon
The mix deck does look like an ok setup for starting out on, ive seen them in dj shops, and you do have the choice of using CDs on it but I couldn't say for sure if its any good
Bennyj
Yeah the only bad thing people seem to say about it is the fact that almost the entire unit is made of plastic... But they did say if it contained more metal it would be way too heavy..
OxyKon
Well when it comes to turntables you want it to be more metal, otherwise when you knock it while the needle is on a record the thud will be heard through your speakers
Bennyj
Yeah fair enough, I won't be using vinyl though
Mitch
for around your budget you could pick up something like a second hand pair of cdj 350s + djm 350 in a roadcase. You can mix from cd's, USB's, as well as hook them up to the computer for HID/MIDI control if that's your thing
