mattus123 Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Hey guysgot a mate selling dre beats studio headphones for 75 bucks (pretty sure they were acquired by illagitimite means, but 100% real)i need some headphones for monitoring as i cant afford good speakers just yet. Do you think these would be any good? Quote
Scottie Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Don't do it. Massive mid-bass hump and overall shitty sound. Even for $75, not worth it for production. Quote
mattus123 Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 I know the normal ones were way too heavy on the bass side of things, but i thought maybe the studio ones were made differently? Quote
Scottie Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 They all share the same sound signature. I've heard good things about Sony MDR-V6's & MDR-7506's for studio usage. Quote
Mitch Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 they are very bass heavy. For production you want a flatter sound ideally Quote
LabRat Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I hate beats by dre. They're just a social status. Nothing good about them at all Quote
GREMM1S Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Lol yep, i have caught several losers with them not even plugged into something Quote

GREMM1S Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Lol the sound of their own hd faggotry maybe Quote
yizzle Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 personally would stay away from beats by dre for ANYTHING music related.mind you, the new phone i got has beatsaudio. and my my phone sounds like a tin can in a tin can.just saying.. Quote
Kodiak Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 They are made by Monster. The company that sell $100 cables that do the exact same job as $5 ones. Nuff said. Quote
djrhysj Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Interested to find out which headphones you guys would recommend for $75 over the beats? Quote
Bonz Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 They all share the same sound signature. I've heard good things about Sony MDR-V6's & MDR-7506's for studio usage.i can vouch for the mdr 7506's.they arent 75 bux but ur gunna find it hard to find a decent pair for production at that price. Quote
Kodiak Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Interested to find out which headphones you guys would recommend for $75 over the beats?I'd probably look at "open" type headphones that do not cup your ear, but sit on your ears.. These usually give a far flatter response at the expense of isolation.I have a set of Allesandro MS-1's that have a very true sound. $139 which is about as close to $75 I think you will find for anything remotely decent. http://headphones.com.au/psingle?productID=19These cans are highly regarded for their accurate representation of sound for the price. Best driven from an amp or higher quality sound card (Xonar STX etc). When listening to music I much prefer to use my HD25's as I find the sound to be sweeter. But for production I would definitely swap over to the MS-1's. Quote
