Dre Beats Stdio for Production

Hey guys

got a mate selling dre beats studio headphones for 75 bucks (pretty sure they were acquired by illagitimite means, but 100% real)

i need some headphones for monitoring as i cant afford good speakers just yet. Do you think these would be any good?

Don't do it. Massive mid-bass hump and overall shitty sound. Even for $75, not worth it for production.

I know the normal ones were way too heavy on the bass side of things, but i thought maybe the studio ones were made differently?

They all share the same sound signature. I've heard good things about Sony MDR-V6's & MDR-7506's for studio usage.

For production you want a flatter sound ideally

personally would stay away from beats by dre for ANYTHING music related.

mind you, the new phone i got has beatsaudio. and my my phone sounds like a tin can in a tin can.

They are made by Monster. The company that sell $100 cables that do the exact same job as $5 ones. Nuff said.

they arent 75 bux but ur gunna find it hard to find a decent pair for production at that price.

I'd probably look at "open" type headphones that do not cup your ear, but sit on your ears.. These usually give a far flatter response at the expense of isolation.

I have a set of Allesandro MS-1's that have a very true sound. $139 which is about as close to $75 I think you will find for anything remotely decent.

These cans are highly regarded for their accurate representation of sound for the price. Best driven from an amp or higher quality sound card (Xonar STX etc). When listening to music I much prefer to use my HD25's as I find the sound to be sweeter. But for production I would definitely swap over to the MS-1's.

Yea beats by dre are pretty gay. For 75 bucks they aren't bad I suppose
