The Next Soundcloud (Beta)

Opened up Soundcloud today and got an invite over to the Next Soundcloud private beta.... Anyone else checking this out?

First impressions are it looks nice. Will have a play and see what interesting new features there are.

First things I like.... Can keep listening to song and explore others. Soundcloud use to stop playing what you were listening to when you followed another link.

Also comments show under the waveform so is easy to click through a song. Cannot seem to turn comments off though like before. But this was the main reason I turned them off so for me not an issue.

been using this for ages now and it's pretty shit as you can't explore tracks on it yet.

i do like the music still playing when your browsing though.

They are taking their time to get the whole thing sorted though.

Used it, didn't like it, continuing to use classic style. I sent them feedback but they've done nothing about it so I don't care no more lol

i use the original one again now too. i miss the dashboard showing what people you follow are commenting on/favouriting. hear some good shit that way.

i also found i had trouble streaming the songs through the player, bit more lag than on the classic system

I dont mind it. I like how it gives you a TOTAL plays, even tracks you've deleted. Gives me that warm fuzzy feeling.

I like the look. Other then that, I haven't noticed too much difference

I believe so. i have 1800+ plays now as opposed to the 900ish Originally showing

where does the beta one show you your plays?

if I hit 'stats' it opens a new window and takes me to the old soundcloud anyway.

soundcloud.com/dashboard, near the top right theres a section that says statistics and has your plays for today and yesterday in it. Just underneath is x number plays in total

Oh yeah, I've gained 4000 odd plays from stuff I've deleted in the past in that case to take me to 7, 581.

Mine's still on the old one. If you want the old layout back just go into experimental features in the settings and uncheck the "Enable Next" box.

I found the option to switch back. It's in the "More" menu

Its not terrible, a little quicker but harder to navigate, may as well switch over because they will eventually disable the ability to use the old one.

It looks good but IMO that's about it. One day I'll use it once they disable the old one
