On the 23rd of November Chinese Laundry are proud to present the She Can DJ 2012 winner: Leah Mencel!

Leah’s credentials are impressive, having warmed the stage for some of the biggest names in the business. This femme fatale is unequivocally the Pied Piper of the sleepy city, taking hand-picked tracks, meshing samples in with surgical precision, and pairing these live mixes with ruthlessly effective acapellas to create flawlessly formed s

ets with an energy that is second-to-none. In a nutshell, Leah is the perfect embodiment of a new era of female DJs-cum-producers.

Leah has been working relentlessly as a professional in the industry for 3 years, and has quickly caught the attention of promoters and audiences around the country. She has most recently been crowned by the winner of She Can DJ 2011 securing herself a global recording contract with EMI and a weekly show on Party People, an Australia-wide radio show that reaches 600,000+ listeners.

Her sound stays true to her much loved mashup/party/hiphop style, whilst being strongly influenced by the likes of dubstep big-shots Skrillex, Knife Party, Nero, Kill The Noise and Datsik.

You may notice that a "Mencel set" these days has noticeable hint of dubstep, and having found herself a niche within the genre, Leah has been hard at work in the studio working with vocalists and creating both remixes and original tracks under the dubstep banner.

Alongside Leah Mencel are the always killer: Kyro and Bomber!

Having already supported the likes of Steve Aoki, Porter Robinson & Jack Beats, they definitely caught the eye of the public with their remix of Poter Robinson & Lazy Rich’s track hit ‘hello’.

And just to add to the already awesome line-up is non other than Kid Sample.

Starting out doing bootleg edits of tracks by various artists ranging from Local Natives to Daft Punk, Kid Sample went on to establish himself in the local dance music scene which has now seen him perform at some of Sydney's biggest clubsand has supported the likes of Noisia, Rudimental, Netsky, Borgore, Danny Byrd, DJ Hype, Jackmaster etc.

This will be a very fun night and a big start to your Stereosonic weekend , or just a big night in general !
