Earlier in the night when I was at soundpond last night, they where playing some really sick tunes with some of the heaviest basslines I have ever heard. Apparently it's called "Future Bass"?

Pretty sure one of the artists was "Disclosure" or "Distorted", Can't quite remember which.

Is that the proper name for it, I've also heard it been called "UK BASS".

I absolutely love it is all, and want to start a collection of it.

There are two brothers from the UK who produce together and go by the name "Disclosure" but there stuff is a bit softer than the track you posted.

not really garage imo

i'd just say its bass music which is pretty shit because it can cover such a large variety of sounds. I first noticed it 2010, might've been around earlier. IMO it exploded with this:

So like I said, essentially anything under the sun could get called bass music.

it sounds just like a 2012 4x4 garage genre possibly with some fidget influence

genres are constantly evolving

for example in 2004 what we defined to be electro is now mainstream house/pop,

interesting sound tho
