AlexJ Posted October 27, 2012 Share Posted October 27, 2012 so im trying to clean up my tracks. mainly for private usage.now for some tracks i can simply go in and edit the contributing artist easy as u like.but for some reason it wont let me click and edit for othersso far as i can see there is no difference between teh tracks. same types bit rates etc.but idk why i cant edit them to show artist Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mitch Posted October 27, 2012 Share Posted October 27, 2012 1st step - try this1. Right click on the folder where ALL your music is kept (e.g. C:\users\alexj\Music\)2. Click properties3. Click the security tab then click edit4. find your user and make sure full control is ticked5. Click apply and ok6. go to the general tab, untick read-only (if it is supposedly unticked already tick it and hit apply, then continue). 7. click apply. select apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files. click ok.then try edit a file.another suggestion is to use an Id3 tag editor program. they usually read more formats then built in windows id3 tag reader.if you use itunes use that, also traktor should edit the file directly.Or any of these: http://lifehacker.com/5266613/six-best- ... ging-tools Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
