I just started a new soundcloud account.

I uploaded 4 things.

Before I told anyone it was there and within 3 hours:

1 thing has been favourited, 1 other has had a comment on it, but only 1 other different one has actually been played.

So are gronks just "liking" and "commenting" on shit they havent heard?

or are these some kind of mad bot?

was it always like this and i never noticed?

or is soundcloud mad as a box of frogs all the time?

Sometimes the displayed amount of plays a track has is delayed a bit but it wouldn't be surprising if it was bots or just really persistent kids. Ive seen profiles that are following like 30,000+ people and others where they post 1000 of the same spam comment on different tracks but that's really nothing new.

Either way though, more favs and comments makes you look cooler :thumright:

Soundcloud was ace during the beta phase then for a while after that. It's lost the sense of community it had when it first started out.

Couldn't agree with you more.

It used to be pretty easy to make connections and have productive dialogue with people over your/their work and really have some communal sharing instead of kids just trying to fill their comment bar. Same thing happened with dubstepforum

yeahhh there is a heap of spam. but people still respond well to a personalized letter. generally depends on the person your contacting. sometimes people are just whales.

LOL.

On my other soundcloud account I had honestly assumed that all the posts were by people who had listened and given a shit.

I never get many so I was chuffed for the feedback.

Now i have started from scratch again I have seen it for what it is. Facebook for wannabe DJs.

cheers for the knowledge gents. Soundcloud: fail... NEXT!

in fact have you lot heard myspace is trying to making a comeback following a total revamp?

one of my mates actually said yesterday they're gonna start using it again.... I can't actually remember if I still have an account or not.

I usually check out most people who give me a like. One guy had done decent original tunes but missing those things that make a song great. I gave some feedback on how he could take the songs to the next level.

He was truly appreciative of the actually constructive feedback.

About a week later I noticed he no longer "liked" my profile. I sent a message asking was he just spamming for likes. He apologised and came clean. So I in turn removed my lime of his profile.

A couple weeks later the sand guy liked my profile again. I couldn't believe it. Randomly spammed a like on my profile. Which was gone a week later again.
