SolDios
Also, has anyone ever delt with grey's online?I have heard some good and bad things about them, not sure what to decide on though
lloydc
yeah lloyd the asus one that drc1 found is solid dood.but yeah the alienware gaming ones are ridiculously priced.so i take it u want something like a 17" screen?it seemed appealing at first, but i wanted the following:i78gb+ ram1tb hi res screendecent batterylifecapable of playing the odd game at decent settingsblurayportablenot uglyI bought a dell XPS 15 this morning and it ticks all boxes, except bluray.I was also considering going down the SSD road, or even lappys with two drives. the downfall of that was either lack of storage or cost, and when you were talking laptops with multiple drives, you were also talking 4KG or so, which kills the portability criteria... a 17" also adds size and weightthe XPS was the best option, and they are doing them at $400 off at the moment, so cost me $1650 with an upgrade to windows pro

Mitch
Its not a new laptop, its used and supposedly being 'reconditioned'. What grays policy is on a reconditioned laptop is unknown to me.as for warranty you have 30 days after you buy it to transfer the computer from grays online's name into your own name (at this link: http://www.dell.com/support/retail/us/e ... tifySystem) and buy warranty on the machine. personally i wouldn't buy it, rather just go new and know nothing is being fucked with
opticon
I was in the market for a new laptop as at the end of the year I'll be travelling + contract working around the globe so I wanted something bigger than a 13" MBA but portable.Just picked up an Asus N56VM (i7, 4GB, 750GB, Full HD screen, Nvidia GT630, Blu-ray) for $1200 including a extra 1 year asus warranty. Currently installing my own Windows 7 copy on there now
