AlexJ
Looking to step into some producing, also need another computer to go with the dj setup, would probably become dedicated music laptop so im looking for a second hand one. maybe someone has upgraded/got sick of it/other not sure reason for sale but if anyone has one they are thinking of selling let me know and maybe we can work something out. Not set on a particular price yet, have some money to head towards this but wont say how much but yer. let me know what you have and we can go from thereto those who will bitch about me asking for apple.1) been pc owner all my life, will still own several of them after this purchase (anyone remember the picture i took for ysm i already have a fuckload of laptops )2) just one of those try and see how i like it. i may be a convert. never know... but that is by far not my sole reason for purchase. There is a decent chance that the laptop would end up with my brother in 6 months time who is moving to a new school that already has a large and extensive apple infrastructure in place as part of gov. laptop scheme (yes they took the subsidy money, chipped in a little extra and gave the kids macbooks!) so that is part of my rational.Anyone let me know. Mitch
There is a Fair chance when you buy a 'new' Mac it's got refurb parts in it anyway, so your not really losing out on anything by getting a refurb, providing you get the same as the current model out. Funky_Steve
Possibly looking at a Macbook too. What size would people recommend for DJing? Is a 13" too small? Is a 15" too large to cart around everywhere? Thoughts?
lloydc
what software?i found myself wanting more real estate on the screen when using traktor on my 13" lappyserato doesn't seem to be as busy and cluttered (ask the serato experts)i'd get a tablet if using rekordbox
djrhysj
I rekon 13" are better for DJing than 15", especially if the booth where you are DJing is all cluttered and messy, or just real small.13" screen has more than enough real estate for using serato I've never had to squint or anything, it's a perfect size! AlexJ
We ended up getting a 13'' macbook pro. alittle less space when running traktor through it, but really not that noticable. serato fits well. So far so good. My brother is lovin' it!
