Income of Clubs

I was thinking the other day about how much a club would make in one night, as in a friday or saturday night, but really didn't have much of an idea, but was pretty curious to find out.

There are a few factors you have to consider like club capacity, hours open, entry price, drink price etc., but does anyone have a more educated answer?

do you mean how much the promoter holding the night will make?

or how much the venue will make?

(either way i dont really know but thought you may want to clarify as they are usually two different parties)

A smaller club/pub in the city does 10-20k on the bar, and promoters generally make 2-5k but they obviously have to pay all the promoters, djs, flyer people, production etc

I know candys apartment do 40/50k on the bar on a busy night which is mammoth for their capacity, not sure what the bigger clubs do promoter wise but the hip hop scene clubs do around 5k min a night.

You need to take into account the amount of requirements and licensing etc they need to pay for, plus security, public liability, staff, stock, insurance.. the list is epic.

not to mention a lot of them really only really have business 2-3 days (nights) a week

Soho do 60k on a sat night or something

apparently the door change basically covers payment for all DJs, promoters, and staff (there would probs be some to spare)

Yep absolutely massive costs, the nightclub licenses in sydney, especially the cross are so expensive it is ridiculous not to mention the high rent.

Just to clear it up for some people majority of the costs is split with clubs.

Bar sales go to Ngithclub owner(s), security, bar staff, stock, rent, power, lights and speakers

Door sales go to Promoters, djs, flyer people

Upmarket hip hop promoters especially make a killing with their high entry fee, the asian crowds are crazy lineup for hours, pay 35 bucks buy 3 or 4 20 dollar drinks, get smashed off those couple of drinks and leave, such a high turnover of people paying entry it's nuts.

yeah the owner of the club also gets a cut of the drug money as they can control which drug runners they allow in.

others also have the extra cost of shake downs. But thats usually covered by the promoter
