Tomy Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 one way to put the above charts in to action is notch out the freq of your bass from your kick. can really help the bass sit better. this is a technique a sound engineer showed me ages ago. i cant quite remember it (as I've not really done it a lot recently) but I'll have a crack. IE: your using bass in the key of F which from the above chart means the freq's listed. Notch out from your kick 87.31 or 174.61 (depending on kick) and also notch out a higher one if you have a nosier kick say with a cymbal on top. so 2793.83 or even a few octaves higher if need be.feel free to correct me on this one. I'm pretty sure this was way to "notch EQ" your bass. Quote

street Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I rather tune my kick to the key of the song, giving it a narrow boost at the according frequency. Quote
