djnatdog Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 No I haven't downloaded it but a few of the club DJs I work about reckon it's a half decent application and better than the soundcloud one but yet again it's not hard to top Soundcloud with their application. Quote
LabRat Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 i didn't even know soundcloud had an app for mac lol i might grab it since our macs are gonna start becoming massive iPads lol Quote
Mitch Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I have the beatport one. Pretty good. Easier then pressing download on every track you bought, just downloads them all for you. Quote
Gandy Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 i use it all the time its great, select all, download Quote
mattus123 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 there is one on pc.. i tihnki got a thing called 'beatport downloader' and basically it just lets me download all songs in the checkout at once Quote
LabRat Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 No it's different to the beatport downloader. I got that the day I signed up with beatport lolThis is like the whole beatport site in an app. Hit up beatport and check it out. It's a Mac only thing. I'll download it sometime this weekend and review it for yas Quote
GREMM1S Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Yeah different mattus, i find beatport downloader speeds are slower anyway Quote
LabRat Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 Yeah different mattus, i find beatport downloader speeds are slower anywayi havent found it too bad. i use to download individual tracks when i was buying from Traxsource, and that was a pain in the butt! havent botheres with Beatport coz i got the downloader to do it for me lol Quote
GREMM1S Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Ah it's more convenient but if you click download on the site opposed to the downloader it does it a fair bit quicker, anything over 10 songs ill use downloader though Quote
LabRat Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 ok i've just gotten this app and here's what i have to say about it.If anyone has the Beatport app on their iPhone they'll come to see this app for their Mac is quite similar. The main screen is set up with your options and menus on the side and all the tracks in the main window. Quite idiot proof really…These menus show the main Browser (Which doesn't seem to show anything apart from what the app is all about), Top Downloads, Featured, New Releases and Charts, which all drop down so you can select your genres. My Beatport, Downloads drop menu (Available, Re-Downloaded, Downloads), Carts drop menu (All Carts, My Beatport Cart, My Beatport Hold Bin) and a Utilities drop menu (Artwork Tagging). It's been a real easy app to navigate through in the short tie i've had it. previewing tracks is a breeze with a sophisticated waveform located in the middle of the toolbar. Hot keys can be edited to choice for Start/Stop Player, Play next track, Play previous track, Play next release, Scan forward in playing track, Scan backward in playing track, Add playing track to default cart, Remove playing track from My Beatport, Hide/Unhide application. You can create Sub-groups and multiple carts to organise your music your way. Example, My Beatport can contain sub folders for your favourite tracks or to prepare a playlist for download. Same deal with Carts. You can create sub groups for your carts to load them as specific genres or playlists. There are some cool things in this app and I'm sure the more it gets explored the more this app will be used over the webpage. It is a very easy app to use straight off the blocks so people shouldn't be having any issues with converting from the main site to the app. You PC folk may need to wait a while for this as it is a Mac only application. You can download straight from the Beatport sitecant see, to embed them so theres a few images here: http://imageshack.us/g/404/newreleasesi.png/ Quote
