djstefles
Hey guys, tommorrow night is the first time that i will be playing at a bar. I was wondering if anyone can give me and MUST HAVE advice, im a bit stressed, but im not sure why.I have my cds ready, printed out song names in a booklet, im bringing my own mixxer and decs. Just things like, if i stuff a beatmatch or somthing, my better of flicking the song off right away, or trying to fix it?And any other helpful info would be so appreciated!!(Im not trying to be somone im not, so please dont insult me and say things like, "if your playing at a bar you shouldnt have to worry about stuffing a beatmatch")Thanks

Genetic
even the pro's fuck up, depending on how bad it is would designate the required action, if it just requires a nudge- give it to it. if it really is way out it's probably better to get rid of it
CBG
hey man, when your matching up your two songs. Dont rush it. You have minimum 3 minutes. So make sure you get the tempo within .2%-.3% together and let it rip. Keep your hand close to the platter and turn pitch lock on (so the crowd cant hera your corrections), everytime you make a correction, adjust on the pitch fader, it should be pretty simple dude. I reckon you'l be fine.Just remember not to rush yourself. Stick to some simple 32 bar transitions and you should be laughin.

SourceRaver
Probably a bit late for the first night but...You will fuckup! ...and no one will notice. You have been teaching your brain to pick up tiny differences in BPM. The rest of the people in the room are more interested in killing their brain with alcohol and socialising. Expect to be nervous but after a while you'll start to relax. Good luck!
djstefles
Haha yer i figured that a bit after an hour, that even when i felt like a beat match was a bit of no one had any idea that it was, id say things to one of the workers there like, owww that was a bit sketchy and he couldnt work out what i was talking about haha, so thats good.I guess i made a reasonable impression because they called me in last night at the last minute, and im playing again tonight, i really am loving this, im just trying not to play to much of the same music everytime i go there or i could get annoying to the staff/regulars. Intell-I-Gence
and the biggest load of crap transitions... radio transitions are so much different because the dj isn't creating a set the flows :S its kinda pointless actually listening to it..
