Thanks but been over that one a couple times... I get the idea there. Achieving it is were i need some input.

I need some insight on the best way to structure my sets. I understand the theory of energy on a dance floor, taking the crowd on high's and low's during the night. I'd like to learn more when it comes to achieving this and constructing this type of an experience. Please keep this club related and focus on methods to achieve different out comes. Whether it be creating luls giving dancers a rest, opportunity's for buying drinks, or building up suspense and energy on the dance floor. Lets assume the audience would have been in the club from start to finish of a set and the style of music is progressive house and electro. My first thought's are to start a set off by playing at a low bpm range, say 125 and build to around 133 during the night. Maybe dropping when needed. But I feel like it's not enough control and would this bpm change really impact the audience effectively. Thoughts and suggestions please????!!

Yea just get creative. Try build something with materials you find laying around or just use random junk. An old computer desk or table that you find on the side of the road with a bit of TLC and a black sheet thrown over the top could be perfect for a small budget

Sitting down = lazy. If you want to read your crowd (keep them interested) At least act like you care an get into what your playing. I'd stay standing an show some enthusiasm while playing. If the crowd all start to leave the dance floor or stop dancing it's a good time to try something new ie new track / genre style. An i know requests are gay, but others do like types of music that some of us don't. I play tracks that I know 100% will be crowd pleasers even though I cannot stand them. As for drunk people trying to spill there beverages and drool all over your nice equipment. Consider the way you setup your gear. If you can, try creating a stage like setup and make it so people don't have easy access to get at everything. Being up higher or putting yourself in the corner of a room can help prevent people from coming behind your equipment and sometimes even improve the room acoustics

Complete Beginner Tips: I found it useful to to start off with a track that's not complex with a nice simple beat. Also if you make doubles and play both at the same time it makes it much easier to hear and correct your mistakes. Practice with that, using your jog wheels to match the beats and get used to letting the beat run out of time an bring it back again. After that try with different songs. Intermediate Tips: Hope that's helpful

Had a listen. Overall sounded good for me. Again I liked the track choices. I found that there were a couple of small clashes but not necessarily your mixing I think it was the song choice/key. Nice work man Btw Cupe I did a search in regards to theory of a mix as I would love to learn more about this myself. I didn't find anything useful. Anyone have links or suggestions for this?
