  1. I consider headphones to be very important when starting out. You're going to be practicing a lot so you want headphones that are durable, comfortable and don't fatigue your ears too much. For these reasons I can recommend the Sennheiser HD25-II. The sound clarity is very good but you need to be careful with the volume. These headphones can go very loud and could damage your ears if you're not careful. The only downside is the cord length is shorter than usual, but it keeps you on the decks

im pretty sure they're coming to the land down under soon I hope they come to brisbane
  3. yes... it does ive done alot of playing around with it and ive found better quality sound+ ease of use using it straight from mixer to efx to speakers rather than as send/return, with the disadvantage of not being able to isolate single channel. No matter what I adjust (depth, character, effect lvl, in/out levals) using send/return I seem to get small amount of feedback and using two effects at once things turn bad sometimes... otherwise yea its good. hope this answers your questionCheers mate.
  4. I can personally un-recommend these, everyone i've spoken to who's had a set of these have had them snap - freaking gay. Although i haven't had my A&H XD53's for long to give a good thrashing, they come recommended by a few members here and are definitely looking to be a better set of cans. I won a pair of HDJ1000's in a competition. After finding out they are fragile from countless reviews, I decided to continue using my Sennheiser HD25-II's for mixing and the HDJ1000's for light PC use. After about 6 months they snapped.
  5. how are these different from using USB on cdj's? same same... actually, using USB on CDJ's is the stupidest idea in the first place. why spend all that money on buying (essentially) a CD PLAYER just to plug in a HD or USB?? isnt that what MIDI controllers where made for anyway? I wouldn't call it the stupidest idea. Why do car audio head units support cd's, dvd's, bluetooth and usb devices? Its useful to have the flexibility to use whatever medium suits the circumstance.
  6. Weird post. He offers information that has little relevance to the people of this forum and disappears with "so have a nice day" . I'm not sure what he was attempting to get across :S
  7. Behringer Truth 2031A's are excellent value for money and are ideal for bedroom mixing. You can pick up a pair for $450 at most DJ or pro audio stores. They're active so no external amp is required. You can always use them as "booth" monitors in conjunction with your primary PA when you get that setup.
  8. very nice troyboy . does the efx1000 integrate well with the xone-92?
  9. do you get much skipping with the turntable on the left? having it tilted like that might also wear your vinyl out faster than usual.
  10. I use the following simple structure: Root__Tech House__CD1 |............ |________CD2 |.............|________CD3 | |___Progressive House__CD1 |.............|___________CD2 | |___Tech Trance__CD1 |.............|_______CD2 Each CD# directory represents a CD that I burn for mixing on my CD decks, with each CD containing 7 tracks. For each CD, I print out a tracklist containing the song title, artist and remix for each track so I can refer to it in the mix. With this scheme in place I just add CD's to the appropriate music genre directories as I buy more music. The latest CD's contain the latest music. Perhaps further down the road I can add another level describing the year the track was bought in.
  11. I don't attend music festivals too much these days. I'm not a fan of the huge lines and inflated prices.
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Special thanks goes to skank for posting the link on djforums. Hopefully it pulls more aussie djforums members into here.
  13. joined QLD.
  14. It was posted by Electro Arnie. Nice hat CBJ
  15. First started with CD's, then added vinyl into the mix and couldn't be happier
  16. Hi everybody. I saw a post in djforums.com promoting the this aussie version and thought i've give it a go. For almost a year I've enjoyed mixing progressive house, electro house, tech house, tech trance, and hard trance. I'm currently looking for ways to improve my programming and make my mixes more interesting. Hope this forum becomes a regular destination during lunch breaks. Cheers.
