Is that a pair of JBL PRX 615's I see? Sure is, amazing speakers. That they are! I have a pair of 635's and a 618S~XLF myself. Glad I made the investment.

Good Dance acapella's thread (the definitive list)
chrismak replied to Tomy's topic in DJ Headquarters
Some quality acapella's here! But what did you mean by "legit" Tomy? These are all from filesharing sites. -
Or Ebay. It's a great deal cheaper than vinyl. Look at it that way.
-
If you want lossless quality then buy CDs & rip to WAV/AIFF if you want more portable storage. That's what I do.
-
hey mate. I can actually hear everything clearly where I'm mixing at home. The horizontal coverage angle on the tops are 90°. I don't want to stuff my ears so only turn up the volume for short periods or when out side

Cheers guys. My pride & joy

Figured it's about tine I post my setup.

I was hoping to let you guys suggest what you think they are worth. I haven't seen too many second hand Xone 92 mixers or CDJ1000MK2's on ebay lately so not entirely sure what the market value is.
-
Already got Xone DB4 . Looking at getting current gen cdj 900/2000's.
-
Hey guys. I'm in the process of upgrading my gear and have a much loved Xone 92 & two CDJ1000MK2's for sale. Willing to split mixer from CDJ's. Open to reasonable offers. Prefer pickup Brisbane. Inspections welcome.

Yeah he's still making trance. Some quality tracks as well. http://www.beatport.com/artist/paul-oakenfold/19359

Lazy dj's are attracted to auto sync. That doesn't imply all auto sync users are lazy.

This video was seriously depressing. No passion. No effort.

javascript won't be going anywhere anytime soon. At Uni you're learning how to learn. Picking up new languages will hopefully become easy by the time you graduate.

I've looked....and no success. The best you'll do is 320mp3.
-
I wish that were true. The sound quality degrades every time you play it.
-
Messing with the dynamics would make me nervous. Do you keep the original tracks?

It might also be the graphics chip. The trouble with Laptops is you never have the spare parts available to confirm the problem. Sometimes the manufacturer/supplier sends the wrong part and other times the problem extends beyond the obvious source and you end up having to pay more than its really worth. In a lot of cases it becomes a waste of time and money trying to get an old laptop repaired. If its out of warranty, get a new one with warranty.
-
Its interesting that you mention visual aid. CDJs offer added visual aid over vinyl (amongst other functions) and eventually became acceptable by most DJ's. You average club patron didn't care when CDJ's replaced turntables and they don't care that laptops are now making an appearance in the DJ booth. I doubt they even give a thought as to whether or not the DJ "worked hard to achieve his talents". If it sounds good...it is good.
-
The thread title indicates that this particular technique is what's wrong with the laptop DJ. The point I was trying to make is that we shouldn't care about the technique....as long as it sounds good. And we don't really know how good it sounds.

I really don't see the issue. None of us know how well her mixing sounds. If its working for her then so be it. We're sitting on our computers analyzing a picture we know little about and judging her while she's out there having a decent go. How many of us have peaked at the BPM display or used an auto loop. We're all cheaters in somebody's eyes. Cut the girl a break guys.

I disagree with number 4. Headphones are used for EQ'ing as well as beatmatching. You want to be able to hear accurately how your cue'd track complements the current track before making it live, and make EQ adjustments as necessary.

I've had a listen on Beats by Dre and they sounded pretty ordinary.
