Hey production heads trying to get my head around the basics of Massive, and have started with just following a little walk through type thing shown on the massive 'getting started' pdf Basically I am using 2 oscilators; osc 1's filter routing is left in the middle (so that it passes through both filters), osc 2's filter routing is dragged down so it only passes through filter 2. The walk through says that by applying a filter to filer1 and leaving filter2 without a filter, it will allow some of Osc1 to be filtered and some left unfiltered, while leaving Osc2 to be completely unfiltered.... this is where my problem comes in if i try and isolate Osc2 i cant hear anything, and when looking at the master levels, there is no waveform being created. If i drag the filter router from Osc1 down so that it send all the sound through filter 2, the sound ceases to exist. Basically, im asking if there is some super noob reason that this would happen that i just can't see? Ive followed everything exactly to the letter and i cant work out why this happens Cheers

i dont see why they would want this i read an article earlier about clubs trying to ban tractor users, due to performances issues or whatever i dont see the logic behind this though.. is it to try and stop piracy?

This ^ i also found i had trouble streaming the songs through the player, bit more lag than on the classic system

I really just think its due to EDM becoming very mainstream even 10 yeas ago, you would not hear the amount of EDM on the radio as you do now So instead of clubs attracting the people who are there purely for the music, u attract people who are just there. I put my money on it being a cycle, and in 10 years or so there will be some new crazy genre that everyone will be losing their shit over, and EDM will go back to its roots. Things can only get so big before they implode

Yea, got the completely wrong attitude if u respect the industry, ur not gonna steal some other persons work without them knowing. i have quite often shot the artist a PM and asked for a download, 90% of them have been more than happy. Some of my favourite tracks have been collected this way. You want the industry to respect you, then you need to respect it

Hey brosephs, me and Gremm1s are gonna DJ some big architectural function in a few weeks above establishment, they are expecting like 450 people to show up or sometihng. Im planning on playing lounge/tech/depp house, but i jsut got a txt from the chick who booked me saying the boss wants to meet me to discuss music. He either doesnt know what tech/deep house is, OR it isnt what he's atfer Just wondering what you guys think i should play for a bunch of suits at a fancy function? I wanna try get a few songs together or possibly a small mixtape before i meet him to show him the type of stuff ill play Cheers Guys

sorry dont think i was clear i meant get top 40, but get some classics aswell for the oldies

hit up aria charts and just get all that top 40 stuff i imagine it being a fundraiser there will be some oldies there aswell, so get some classics that they know when you mix, just balance it up between stuff that the younger people will know and the stuff the older people will know. you'll be playing for 2 generations which makes it a little bit harder
