  1. Just flop it out You'll be much less forgettable The worst part is I'm not even really joking. This comp has nothing to do with anything except for image.
  2. the 1000s may be old units, but they are super reliable. U literally almost dont even need to worry about its history, cause unless its been soaked in a bathtub over night, its probably gonna last forever in answer to OP its not a bad price, but its definetly not great either. ive seen a pair of 1000s go for anywhere between 550 to 1200
  3. not trolling.. i genuinely hope guetta and havana brown do a b2b set. would make my whole year seriously though, bloody beetroots are due back i recon. could it be them?
  4. id be happy to show you the basics p.m me
  5. guetta vs havana brown? =D
  6. it will all really depend on the line up i know after 1 festival im pretty much in a coma for the next day, but im sure if the second day was going to deliver i would be able to get to it no worries as for the ticket price comment, i wouldnt be surprised if they make the tickets ridiculously expensive now that its over 2 days. i cant see them throwing a second day without adjusting ticket prices
  7. cant afford it mang ive also thoguht if i get serato i may aswell pick up some tunries and learn how to DJ on vinyl while im at it
  8. I remember reading somewhere that if you charge entry to the venue u will be responsible if anything happens (ie u will need insurance). I remember when we had our annual st party the council were saying we would need 1mil insurance to block off the street incase anything happened, as we would be responsible. So that sort of thing would be worth considering Apart from that the authorities would probably be the best to speak to about this, but I would t be surprised if they tell u to get fucked whether you actually can or can't do it
  9. Ah good tips sol, thanks I just gave it a quick search and apparently I can save hot cues to the keyboard and use them that way. It's only for home use anyway so I can live without them if need be Found one on gumtree for 250 so I might just get it me thinks, cheers fellas
  10. but normal women are more expensive, and the holes in their ears provide extra crevices to insert ones penis CANDYS!!
  11. i run a weapon of a laptop sol MSI - GT780
  12. Lets go candys!!! Crundy loves that place, he'll be able to get you all the hook ups
  13. ah thats good to know wrxfiend, i was tossing up between sl1 and sl2 its purely for home use, and ive now decided that if i do parties ill just burn CDs as needed (it doesnt happen that often anyway) have you ever had lag issues or anything like that? and will i still be able to use all of the functions on my 1000s properly (hot cues, loops, etc)? Edit: before i make a complete fool of myself and buy something thats not complete, i just wanted to double check what i actually need to get serato working. Its basically, the serato box, the cables and timecode CDs yea? the software is free to download?
  14. Ah my bad, I was under the impression that my new equipment would be of interest to everyone
  15. Hey guys I've decided to buy serato instead of spending all my dosh of 2000s Just wondering if there is anything I need to consider? It's only going to be for home use and the occasional party. I was hoping to get a second hand job for like 300 or so Would it mater what version of serato sl I go with? I'm using 1000s mk3 and a dim 850 Cheers ladies
  16. ahk maybe thats the problem, im trying to do too much to it Cheers
  17. Honestly i like the banner we have now its clean and simple Just cause it is a DJ forum doesn't mean we should load it up with DJ equipment You'll find most brands don't advertise this way as it often comes off looking more unprofessional, was one of the first things i learnt in graphic design
  18. Someone come to this with me!!!
  19. cheers for the tips guys russle: i use Ableton, but i figure the idea behind creating good drums can be replicated the same over all DAWs Street: i do use other tracks as a reference for creating a kick, thats how i notice mine dont sound as great. i was wondering if there are any tips you know of that would make them sound better? u should know.. ur kicks are baws!
  20. i think that report may be in response to this one: http://www.ctvnews.ca/entertainment/wil ... -1.1255541 Based on that quote 'That happens a bunch of times where legal takes so long. The creative is instantaneous. You want things to come out.' considering he can barely make a proper sentence, im not surprised he has to steal other peoples music
  21. Hey guys jsut wondering if there are any little tips and tricks you have (and would like to share) in regards to making the drum kit. The more ive gotten into production, the more ive realised how much of the track relies on the drums (especially the kick). I have also noticed that mine just dont sound quite as nice as the professional sounding tracks I basically just use vengeance samples and apply the odd effect (most often just a compresser) to them with a little bit of EQing Occasionally i have tried making my own kick drum by sampling a sine wave, but that didnt work too well for me Is that kind of on the right track, or are there some things im missing? Cheers
  22. i just made up a simple 4/4 kick loop and tried mixing that into various songs
  23. i dont mind it at DnB gigs, if its done well that whole rapping at doubletime is pretty cool i reocn. having said that i wouldnt wanna hear it for the entire set, just every now and then where its appropriate
