  1. cd's screwing up isnt HEAPS likely thou is it? if i were to put about 5 on a cd, that'd be acceptable yea? (i think ive got too many tracks (12) on my current cds) also in relation to that video, buuren has the key written on the cd im assuming throughout the set he would change keys, so not every transition would be in key ey?
  2. well thast what made me question my playlist making skills i put on as many songs as i could fit onto the disc which is roughly about 12 (i dont make mp3 cds) but after hearing this, im starting to tihnk maybe i should have more cd's with less on them also... is there a certain way i should organize tracks into cds? obviously im not gonna put country music with trance, but should the tracks on each cd have similar bpms and stuff, or doesnt it really matter?
  3. hey hey i was watching a video of van buuren going through how he DJ's and stuff ( )and i noticed he said he has 1track per cd im kinda confused why you would only have only 1 track per cd i obviously have alot to learn anyone got any ideas?
  4. yea thats true thats assuming he does play again at that club im jsut gonna google the shit outta it im pretty certain it wasn't a live mix
  5. nope thats not it from memory this version had quite a heavy synth and minimal vocals im actually considering calling up the venue, trying to get the DJs email, and ask him myself but thats probably a bit stalker-ish thou isnt it
  6. so basically last night i was out on the town and i heard a 7 nation army remix come on normally that song makes me wanna put a bullet through my head, but this mix was AWESOME! ive literally spent the last 3 hours trying to track down the song but i cant find it im hoping one of you guys might be able to help me out PLEASE!!!
  7. is there any reason why no one has suggested Denons? maybe look at the DNS700 http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/denon-dns ... layer.html they are withing your budget, and leaves enough left over money for a mixer
  8. lloydc is right you dont need something that good when your starting unfortunetly, i wasnt given that bit of advice and i bought CDJ-1000s, to be fair i got them 2nd hand. but still, i spent lots of money on decks to learn...bit of an overkill learn from my mistake, you probably don't need 900s maybe have a look at the cdj400s, they'll keep u going for a while
  9. if you go with the cdj900s you're going to need atleast two of them and a mixer aswell Whats your budget? cause CDJ-900s and the Traktor Kosmic S4 are on completely different levels Welcome to the forums by the way
  10. u could try taking a short voice sample from a movie? ive heard it done before and it sounded good
  11. yea thats exactly what ive been doing i suppose mash up is the wrong term...but yea... thanks for uploading the mix though, i enjoyed it +REP
  12. There is a duet called 'The White Panda' who make mash ups and remixes on their website http://www.thewhitepanda.com/ they offer free downloads to their tracks definitely worth having a look at guys all downloads are in 320kbps
  13. ive tried doing that and kinda make a bit of a mash up type of thing? wen i do that, i normally kill the lows on the incomming track, so u only hear vocals.. is that kinda wat u meant?
  14. im putting the songs into a playlist now and then ill gonna try both methods i will let u guys know which one works best cheers for advice
  15. yea that's fair enough although on DJ forums experienced DJs do make posts about different techniques which aren't suited for beginners but yea it was just a thought maybe make a poll and ask all the other members?
  16. ill have a look at trancetribe.com thanks for that cause everyone else i ask seem to tihnk im a complete idiot the only things i can find playing in in syd seem to be rnb, top 40 and a bit of dubstep
  17. no i dont want to DJ at a trance club i just wanna go to the club and hear someone else mix
  18. that might be worth a try actually do u recon like a 2 beat loop type of thing? i was thinking maybe trying to drop out the lows and highs, only leaving the mids, and create a sort of accapella type thing would that work?
  19. hot dropping might be the way to go cause the way i did it, it kinda sounded a bit sloppy ill try ur way thanks
  20. Hey guys ive found a couple of great songs which i want to put into my mixes, except they dont have an instrumental start, instead it jumps straight into lyrics im wondering how you guys would go about mixing these sort of songs into ur sets ive created a loop somewhere in the middle of the song where there is an instrumental section, and then when it is playing on its own, i start the track from the beginning is that how you guys would go about doing it?
  21. Hey guys i have spent a bit of time on www.djforums.com/forums/ and i noticed that AusDJforums does not have a 'DJ Techniques' section i recon it would be a good section to add, so people can discuss mixing techniques and ask questions. just a thought...
  22. thanks guys apparently the trance scene in sydney is pretty weak adding some sydney trance DJs on face book would probs work, but i dont know any
  23. Hey guys ive been trying to find a good trance club in Sydney, but everyone i speak to only know of top40 clubs im hoping someone on this forum might be able to shed some light for me cheers guys
  24. cover up the beat counters on your decks and work on doing it all by ear after a while you will be mixing by ear super smoothly
