  12. So when i first started DJing, i noticed the reverse button but couldnt seem to find any use for it. i figured i'd probably work out what i could use it for the better i got at DJing. Ive tried mixing a song, by bringing in track B in reverse, and it sound TERRIBLE. I gave it a google and apparently Denon's have the same feature, but after the reverse, it carries on playin with the song as if it hadn't been reversed, which would be handy for 'beeping' out swear words or something. The reverse function in the CDJ actually reverses the song tohu so it cant even be used to beep out swear words or anything. so my question to you guys is, what the hell do you need to use the reverse button for?
  13. When i was first learning I remember getting to that point, was very close to putting my foot through my set-up...then i remebered how much i spent on it keep at it man, u'll get it. It'll come really suddenly aswell This is the way i learned to beatmatch .Track A playing .Cue track B and move the pitch slider right down so the track is obviously playin WAY too slowly (this is so you know which direction you have to move the track) .Press play on track B (obviously on beat with track A) .Use the headphone on one ear method (Track B playing in headphones, Track A playing thorugh speakers) .Speed up track B with the tempo slider and simultaniously nudge the track forward witht eh jogwheel .When the tracks get close, put on both headphones and adjust it so that both tracks r playing in headphones .Do your fine tuning I was as specific as possible. hopefully that helps
  14. That was kinda my reasoning for it. Glad to knwo im headed in the right direction Guess this should be ur next step maybe Sol?
  15. hola meh llamo matt, eh meh gusto la fiesta
  16. What i am currently doing, to improve my mixing (and someone correct me if this is a bad idea) is i jsut mix random songs together i whack one CD in one player pick a random track, put another CD in the other player and just mix them together. Even if i ithnk that they wont mix well together, i find a place in the song to start the transition (sometimes it will be in the middle of hte song) Slowly i find i am able to see what goes best with what, and im pretty sure its improving my mixing skills over all. I suppose this is a longwinded way of sayin wat streetcleaner said: 'trail and error'
  17. so true i shelled out 2k gettin my first gear (which i now realise was a bit excessive) but it has definetly been motivation during my down periods to keep practising NO CHANCE im gonna waste 2k for nothing
  18. if you have BPM counters, cover them up use parts that have basic beats (intros and outros are often the best)

  22. ahhk so my method of indexing would become a bit redundant ey i suppose your CDs would stay in the same location in the wallet aswell wouldnt they? thanks for the help guys, cleared some stuff up for me
  23. yea it would be time consuming at first, and id have it all saved to computer...no chance im hand writting all that but yea i see what you mean..updating it constantly could be come a bit of a bitch, aswell as constantly having to re-print it you've given me lots to tihnk about
  24. holy santaclause shit thats awesome
  25. I only had this exact same thought last week when i was out on the town im no pro DJ.....but atleast i can beatmatch
