  1. I have a feeling that 'stems' is the wrong word, but im pretty sure ive heard the word thrown around a few times now basically, i think ive learnt the interface to ableton good enough to start 'trying' to make some music. i figured making a remix would be the easiest place to start. Does anyone know where i can get the stems (if thats what its called)? cheers

  3. Nice Jaz!
  4. NOICE!! they weren't joking about that heavy bass, loved it
  5. they probably start of nice, and then begin to think that they're celebreties and turn into whales kinda like club promoters who think that everyone loves them.. when people really only want free entry
  6. I thought this was a new thread, and i see JohhnyB asking for a dubstep battle... the guy who is playing at stereosonic... well this is gonna be a fair comp
  7. u better remeber me when your rich and famous its all starting to happen for you congrats man!
  8. this is true johhny, but i was referring more to your average club goer in the example that you gave, that guy just sounds like he knows his shit
  9. ive only just started playing parties i charge $180, but $80 goes straight to speaker hire depending on your mixing skill, you could probably get away with stepping it up from $150... myabe not such a sudden jump to $350 though, that might throw people off?
  10. what you wanna go for is 320kbps MP3, or if you can get it as a WAV, go for that having said that, people recon they can tell a massive difference between 256kbps and 320...... i call bullshit ive tested a couple of mates who all claim they have awesome ears and can tell the difference, and i played the same song to them (one at 320 and the other at 256)... they couldnt pick which was 320 moral of the story: go for WAV, 320 MP3, and worst case scenario 256... dont go lower than that though

  18. whats the point of converting ID3 tags? infact.. what is an ID3 tag?
  19. my CDJs can measure the BPM, for the first few months of practise i covered them with bluetack in your case with the computer screen, i would sticky tape a sheet of paper to the top of the screen so it flops down and covers the screen. only hold up the paper to change songs, and let the paper flop down again. Mix by ear, you'll never look back
  20. Thanks guys, i got the answers i needed PARTAY!!!
  21. as for getting gigs, work your connections i know of many people who DJ at clubs and are shit, and i know of even more DJs who are awesome but cant get their foot in the door the difference between the two. the shit DJ knows people in the industry you might have mates who promote for a club, start there maybe? as for being unfamiliar with the gear in the club, worst case scenario you could hire out the gear a few nights before and familerize yourself with it? chances are its gonna be a cdj1000s and a djm 800 setup
  22. i got that song hobberz bitches love lion king!
  23. thanks street i kinda mean short 30 second clips or something liek that http://www.soundboard.com/sb/Jungle_Sounds.aspx kinda like in that website just short tracks (samples might've been the wrong word) that i can use within transitions, and keep a jungle theme going throughout the night
  24. Hey guys i got a party coming up, and its a jungle theme so i figured it would be cool to download some jungley sounds (animals in the jungle, rainfall in forest etc etc) to work into the set just wondering if you guys know of any good websites i might be able to find these sounds... preferably free cheers
