thats the impression i go gremm1s the dude asked me a question, and while i was answering he shouted a smart ass remark to one of the other interviewers it like, nah your right man, dont listen to my response, i dont really want u to listen anyway
-
i did mention ADJF actually said that we do live streams that broadcast on the net, he thought that was pretty cool
-
jsut did the interviews, dont tihnk ill get through got stuck with the 'what separates you from everyone else' question, wasnt quite sure how to answer it.. i could tell he was trying to get me to say something to get me over the line, but i dont tihnk i quite said it owell, always the chance of a wildcard if i dont get in

im heading over to the sydney ones tomorrow

take a break, and when u come back to it have a couple of drinks under the belt ive had a couple of rough patches myself where everything i mix goes to balls within 30 mins. taking a break seems to do the trick... and the drinking, cant stress enough how much drinking seems to help me its a sad realisation, but it works... Probably cause it relaxes me, and i mix better when relaxed as i mix based on the feel of the music rather than trying to over analyse shit
-
i jumped on at 12:00 and no one was online weak!

thats a pretty broad target audience you got there, you'll probably have to make a few different mixes for different people one for clubs, one for events, and one for your mobiling gigs club mixes you could probs get away with a heavier mix and try snatch up a gig that allows you to play that type of music in the club (thats what im trying to do). If you make a heaps commercial mix and hand it in to clubs and that, chances r they'll expect u to play that

i made a similar post a while back viewtopic.php?f=43&t=8843 maybe the same reason can be applied to this scenario as the example i gave in that thread ^

What about Tom Cruise's son http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... party.html gets 10k per gig, and he's only 16

NEXT GIG LOG!! played my first club gig last night. rocked up after work at about 11:30, walked in the club, stoaked to see that atleast 20 mates had showed up for support which was awesome. the club was pretty quiet so my set got pushed back half an hour to wait until it filled up. started my set at 1230 jumped in the DJ booth, saw that i was gonna be using CDJ800s (as Gremm1s had warned me) which kinda worried me a bit (im used to using the waveform on the 1000s). Jumped straight on a high and started dropping some dirty stuff right from the start. after about 4 transitions (hadnt dropped anything commercial yet) a guy came up to me and introduced himself.. turned out he was the owner of the club and Candys (i tihnk thats what he said.. couldnt really hear) and he was syaing he was loving the mix and that 'we will defiently have you back here soon'. So after that i was on such a high, everyone was loving what i was dropping and so was I Apparently the backroom (where i was playing) was more packed than the main front room for some of my set aswell Had the resident Dj come up to the booth and said that i was killing it, aswell as a couple of the head promoters. Finished up at 1:30, had a little chat with the guy who got me the gig and he was saying he will try get me a set in the main room next time. So all in all, an awesome first experience. I think i left a good impression on the right people, so fingers crossed i get some call backs and i get some more consistent gigs Thanks for all the advice aswell lads, i did as u instructed; stuck to my track selection, knew the songs i was going to play, and it all went smoothly

Having my first gig at Whaat Club (next to Candys) tongiht, gonna be playing from 12 - 1 (he said i might get extended to 1:30) gonna be dropping some heavier electro, with some commercial to keep the bishes happy would love to see u guys down there if u can make it

Hey guys, so as u may have read, got my first club gig on Sat and i just wanna make sure i have as much knowledge as possible to make sure i do a kickass set any advice or tips that you can pass on to me (inb4 crundy recommends to gabber ) would be greatly appreciated one thing i was concerned with is volumes.. i did a farewell party the other weekend and hte DJ before me had all the eq's to the right and was red lining... if something like that happens ill wanna reset the Eq's back to 12 oclock.. but then the volume might be too low? what would u guys do in such a scenario cheers lads
