This lineup has just confirmed everything i said earlier!

Honestly, i think the best thing about the stereo lineup is the number of artists as opposed to who is actually going. As a trance lover, i also happen to love the lineup.. but unless your into trance, i dont think the line up is that crash hot. Future could produce an equally as good festival with a quality line up... an awesome 1day festival can compete easily with a 2dayer i recon. As for artist speculation.... would love to see chase and status make a return. also with talk of knife party and pendulum making a new album.. it would be fucking badass to see them again (but thats just wishful thinking.. and probably too early) Edit: just to clarrify.. im still a fan of the stereo lineup.. i just dont think its that much of a game changer

i dunno how happy i am about this on the one hand super happy that he'll be here.. but on the other hand, i think seeing him at a festival mainstage would ruin it

So ive been fiddling with ableton more, and started playing around with the groove and its got me wondering, what exactly is the groove? is it kinda of like applying accents to certain notes (changing the velocity of notes), or does it slightly alter the arrangement of notes (move a note slightly off beat). I can hear that there is groove, but can't get my head around where it actually comes from Cheers

i think for a 20 min competition it is ok to pre plan a set, but defiently go in prepared to not play it, (if you set doesnt match the time slot, or if ur set contains a track thats already been played 3 times) as mitch said before, if the person before u is dropping LRAD at 9pm, DO NOT continue on from that, bring it back down to something more suitable. Having recently judged a DJ comp, this was one of the things DJs were marked down for. Definetly bring alot of support, and make sure they all dance and shit when ur playing. Unfortunetly it wont look good to the judges if the 50 friends that you brought are all just standing on the side. The other one is acting the part: make eye contact with the crowd, get into it behind hte decks. this doesnt mean u have to be fist pumping and all that bullshit, but show confidence and enthusiasm behind the decks Have u messaged the guys at soho about the judging criteria?

Id also pronounce empia: em-pee-a If you wanted to keep the pronunciation similar to empire maybe try something like empyre empeyer Maybe throw in some random capitol letters: EmpYre?

Hey guys when i try play a track through serato all i hear is a high pitched feedback, any ideas? I currently have it set up so that the Channel 1 THRU (serato) is connected to Channel 1 PHONO (mixer) and Channel 1 LINE (serato) is connected to Channel 1 LINE/CD (mixer).. the same is set up for channel 2. On the mixer i have the switch set to PHONO. When i move it over to CD/LINE i dont get any audio at all. Could there be a problem with the timecode CDs maybe?
