  1. some of those demands are ridiculous love nero's requests: bottled water (on request), coca cola (on request), beer (on request) he is one chilled customer
  2. hmmm when i saw them it was their own show, so every single person in the crowd was there entirely for them, maybe that made the difference different strokes for different folks i suppose
  3. notsureifserious.jpg when i saw them live, i thought they were amazing the engery in the room was better than any festival i have been to i still rate seeing pendulum as my #1 concert... (actually maybe 2nd after ASOT) that was what i liekd about pendulum, is they did it live rather than DJ. was something a bit differnet.. and they were actualy playing the instruments rather than mixing songs. i thought it was more impressive
  4. they look nice
  5. fuck thats awesome sol networking like a master make a new Z2H vid, and do it on networking!
  6. but i love pendulum!! i always thought that was the great thing about them, they had hte band setup but were playing kickass EDM as melody said though, its good they are going out on a high though big ups to those boys though, if it wasn't for them, i wouldn't be into EDM at all
  7. have u consulted people overseas like china and shit i remember reading an article on the guy who created angry birds.. he had the idea, and employed some chick over in china to actually make it.. nek minute, he is successful maybe u could apply the same strategy?
  8. Dunno if any of you have seen this, but its pretty awesome dunno if this is that fantastic to you production heads, but this was pretty mind blowing to me watching this got me so excited to start producing
  9. by 2am i recon everyone will be too fucked to care id keep engery high, and then maybe an awesome breakdown every few songs. but this is all part of DJing, gota read the crowd.. if it looks like they jsut wanan keep going, fuckt eh breakdown. but if they are starting to tire, maybe give them some rest either way dude. goodluck, youll kill it
  10. hmm ok, cheers so your vote goes into the 'not worth it' pile?
  11. its fine to say that/think that but give it 6 months, and there will be another beatmatching vs sync debate. id bet my left nut on it
  12. poifect, cheers guys so if i could snag an 800 for $800 thatd be a good price?
  13. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PIONEER-PRO- ... _589wt_881 $900 for a cdj900 which looks pretty much brand new either stolen off the back of a truck, or a gift from rich parents... either way, someone should defs jump on this
  14. THATS WHAT SHE SAID
  15. Ok, so i think its time I made the upgrade to a big boy mixer love my xone:22 but i wanna get comfortable with 4channel mixers and the effects on them.. possibly gonna by a 3rd CDJ down the track Do you think its kinda too late to buy the DJM800 and i should buy something more modern, or do you recon the djm800 will still be good enough.. like i know the cdj 1000s are kinda like dinosaur technology, but they are still well and truley good enough imo. also, how much would you expect to pay for a 2nd hand djm800 (assuming its good condition) any input would be bau5, cheers lads
  16. have u gotten the host of the party to give u a basic tracklisting, so u can get an idea of the type of shit he/she wants to hear. Also, is it a mates party, if so, you should have a basic idea of the type of stuff the masses will want to hear. I generally say cater for the group and not the individual, if one person is winging cause ur not playing hip hop, but everyone else is digging the stuff your playing.. then ignore the hip hop requests
  17. nah this guy was just pulling shit out, so as he was pulling the rca cables out of one track, there was feedback coming through the speakers it was a MASSIVE cockup i had no idea what was going on, i dont know how all the controllers work. and thankgod for that it is SO easy to just rock up with CDs, put them in and play
  18. Hey guys, so now that im finally on holidays i want to take a serious stab at production ive been fiddling around with ableton for a bit, but still can't quite get my head around it my question is, do you think the tutorials from www.sonicacademy.com would be worth the purchase. I wouldnt buy them all, maybe only 1 or 2 to get me started, as i dont want to buy them all, and develop a style that is purely the same as theirs.. wanna create my own the ones i was looking at in particular are: http://www.sonicacademy.com/Training+Vi ... lo.cid3930 http://www.sonicacademy.com/Training+Vi ... -8.cid3860 http://www.sonicacademy.com/Training+Vi ... nd.cid2080 but yea, do you think it would be worth it?
  19. it makes me happy to see trance DJs taking out the top of the charts as it is a DJ list, it shocks me to see skrillex even make it in the list, seeing as though i find him a terrible DJ (irrespective of his production abilities) But yea interesting combination between the people who have been doing it for years, and those who have just started
  20. i wouldnt bother sol your current setup is more than enough, save ur money for something you actually NEED as for ur comment about filters, sounds like your relying on them too much ive read somewhere that u should limit urself to one effect per hour.. i recon thats a pretty good rule of thumb... nothing worse than a DJ who uses effects in ever transition imo i always use filters as a 'get out of jail' card. if i feel the transition is sloppy, ill filter out to save my ass
  21. i recon thats an awesome idea aslong as it isnt left on teh ground, and its hidden somewhere clever id pick up the CD
  22. off the top of my head.... takes a little bit more time, doesnt allow you as much creative freedom as you have when you sync as you have to worry about beat-matching the tracks moving the platter to beatmatch increases the chance of arthritis in ur fingers...probably? i havent slept yet, so im tired and cant construct proper sentences. for the record though, i havent used sync, never had equipment that has it. i can see the advantages of using it thou
  23. The moment i hit record i find i over think my mixing. when not recording, i jsut do whatever and it sounds more natural and better. but as soon as i hit record i over analyze everything, and 'try' too hard and it just makes everything sound forced and shit.
  24. Pretty sure this entire thread has been derailed and turned into another 'by ear vs sync' argument that will never be resolved source asked for an analogy to try and better explain sync, not to re open this over discussed topic. There are clearly pros and cons to both
