BAU5! Played another gig at whaat club on the weekend.. they ha a 3rd deck setup, so got to give 3 deck mixing a go for the first time in my life. having a 3rd deck is soo different, was great to be able to cue up another song while two other decks were playing the downside was at one point i got confused as to which deck was playing.. was bringing up the volume of a channel that wasnt even playing, and wondered why i coudlnt hear anything, herp derp.. luckily i noticed before the drop of the incomming song, made the trans jsut in time.

what sort of things are you after? 4 channles? effects? might be worth going down to your local store with your budget in mind, and trying various things. Also in cases like this it is often worth while to wait around save up a bit more money and look around on gumtree/ebay/other sites to try find a good 2nd hand mixer.

make sure u record the audio seperate to the video aswell, and then sync the audio to the video clip, otherwise its gonna be shitty video camera mic audio (which is just the worst). as far as mixing to keep it entertaining, i dont think u need to do anything more than do a good clean mix, the video is really jsut something extra to see what your doing, not the ACTUAL form of entertainment. unless u wanna become like that DJ Bl3nd woofta?

i tihnk overit is on the money if its a comp, your not ther toprovide seemless entertainment for the crowd (your are meant to do that too i suppose), u need everyone to know exactly when your mix starts i think it would be acceptable to do a power down, and as the out going track is 'powering down' start the incoming track at the end of the break down so there that there isnt too much breakdown at the start of your set. Id probs go with someone big that evenyone knows, maybe toulouse or atom?
