i made one and put it on youtube. cost me like 20 bucks. get 4 L stands with pre drilled holes and just get some bolts and wingnuts to attach them together just type in diy laptop stand on youtube.

i have recently been offered a job with a company but i dont know whether or not i should just keep doing my own thing or work for him. im pretty young but im going pretty good. i've been booked at least once a week the past 3 months and still got lots of gigs ahead. but if i did go with a company does it mean i can still do all my regular gigs and charge them what i usually do or would i have to tell them to book me through the company? also what are people's thoughts about working for someone else?

i agree on things such as speakers and turntables but on everything to do with basic lighting i rekon their great. for e.g. i went out to buy a fog machine. Checked out musicians pro shop and it was $130 went down the road to jaycar and they had the exact identical smoke machine with a different name for $90.

would they be willing to pitch in even though they have thier own dance nights?

looks like it would be easier to hire a ready to go venue.

can some ppl tell me some stories of things goig wrong for them. whether its speakers blowing or no one dancing the whole night. im sort of a new mobile dj and want to find out what could happen to me in the future

One of the worst things i have encounted is having everyone up and dancing then some drunk chick comes behind the dj booth trips over my cords turning the music off.

pretty much every house party i dj for i always play nutbush city, ymca and why cant we be friends when everyone gets really loose. I've played these at every party with drunk people whether its a 40th or an 18th they always go off.

So im hoping to plan an underage party on the goldcoast but am not 100% sure of everything ill need to organise. this is what i have thought of so far. -venue(friend owns an abandoned warehouse.Said he would let me use it for $400. Easily hold 500.i was hoping of cleaning out everything seeing as though its really really grubby such as syringes and shit. but not sure whether i would need any licences or something like that to be able to hold a big party there) -secruity -gear hire (already have a bit of my own gear such as small light rig of about 5 lights, 12 inch speakers.) -advertising -Portaloos - Drinks (red bull,coke and water seeing as though underage.) - having everyone sign wavers saying that any harm caused to themselves is their own fault Could anyone maybe give me an estimated cost of this. And tell me any troubles i could encounter
