^^^ I use the one ear off technique first to set my pitch, than both ear cups on for nudging/fine tuning.

I just tried mixing in mono split, your a fucking champ Jaz. I have been struggling the last week or so, as soon as switched to that I fucking found my groove again. +rep bra you've never tried it? dude 1 track in the left ear and 1 track in the right makes thing so much easier I have always done it in stereo with both tracks playing through the headphones. The difference I just found when using mono split is the sound is a lot more crisp and you can hear the highs etc. But In stereo the bass is just raping your ears and you cant hear anything else.

Sol, just go with what you can afford mate. Take your mdex for example, its cheap but its getting the job done, Correct? Dont rely on other people's opinions or what they think of you because you use a controller or cdj's. Everyone has their own opinion. What you want/can afford may not go down well with the next guy but fuck what he thinks. At the end of the day it's purely your decision and as long as you are happy with it than thats all that matters. In saying that, if you buy a controller now at your age, 2-3 years down the track you will obviously be older, more than likely have a better paying job and you may be able to outlay the cash on a nice CDJ set-up.

Nothing, I have spent enough on DJ gear in the last 6months. I might put a 100 dollars or so aside to buy some songs but thats about it.

I went through the aria charts last night and downloaded a fair bit from DJCity, found a guy on there that just extends the standard intro's but leaves the song original. Will have a look through your list, alot of them were familar so i may have some already. Is there an archive on the interwebs somewhere to find Top40 list from previous years? Wouldnt mind a few older bangers that people havent heard in a while.
