  1. was looking on amazon japan for tt's. Mk5's run about $500, mk6 only about 750. have to plan a holiday soon to bring a pair back
  2. Or it's nicked so he really doesn't know what it's worth. Still if you pick up you get to check it out and get a steal for yourself.
  3. you guys don't have kids always seeing stuff like this, normally branded with thomas the tank engine.
  4. A&H vf-1 if you can find one. I keep looking, pop up every other month on ebay uk.
  5. it will probably fly direct from germany to aus, possibly with one stopover in asia. it's probably delayed in customs check in aus, that's the only really manual step in the process
  6. that shelf for laptop and effects looks good, but what's holding the monitors? those things weight a bit but doesn't look like you've got any bracket under the shelf?
  7. tis not a true rotary 80% of the volume control is in the last 20% of the movement, but still better. You can swap in and out in 10 minutes, I figured I'd jsut go back to linear if I didn't like it, but never took it out again.
  8. I'll upgrade after letting other folks test it if there's features I want, but 1.2.7 has nothing. So best case is I've got no improvement at all, worst case I suffer new bugs.
  9. 1.2.6 been there for a while, no real issues aprt from trouble re-installing. 1.2.7 has nothing except bug fixes for issues I never had, so not in a hurry to udpate
  10. djm3000 needs rotary kit
  11. It's a mix of record holding, record wear, sound quality and price. So as wazza said, scratching, dvs etc affect decision. Stanton 500s were for years the decent cheap choice. Also don't spend a fortune if your sound system is crap.
  12. ordering from thomann.de, I got the original order in 3 days, one record was warped and the replacement also only took about that long. these days most warehouses clear the line each day and freight companies have flights leaving late evening to accomodate the 8-4 warehouses. Unless your order is delayed in customs or order processing there's not a lot of reason for orders to take very long. though I did head NI has a long backorder list now for these shipments (ie no stock)
  13. you did well to sell the audio8 when you did, just before NI started selling new for less than that
  14. You can set cue points anywhere in the track. Then you select them and change the type, loop in and the like. One of the types is load marker, will default to that point when you load the track. I tend to just set a few points and use buttons mapped toove to the one I want. Also using relative mode you can go back easily if beatmatching ahead of time
  15. generally a normal backpack. Fits laptop, cd case, headphones etc. don't take control vinyl out so no need to extra wide case
  16. that insect in your sig is f$#@ing annoying. spent a minute trying to clean my screen
  17. here it is http://www.numark.com/x2
  18. numark i think did one. was pretty crappy at both jobs
  19. you do need to include freight costs, that's how customs will calculate it. if it's close and you say $900 on the invoice you will most likely get away with it though.
  20. plus import charge, GST etc for being over $1000. I read a link from gizmodo somewhere that said only the mk6 was being discontinued, and that's only sold in japan anyway
  21. Record and listen to as many if your mixes as you can. You notice the small errors on playback and can be more aware of them when mixing in future
  22. you'd probably see clubs with flexible space rather than adopting a particular setup. with devices like this all you need is an input to the sound system and enough desk space to setu pit up
  23. jsut went looking for any followup in this thread and found it';s not in the prog forum, but under disco and house. proves my point, prog is a name that covers a lot of genres
  24. any one of the units for that price would be suspect, even for a junky desperate to sell his stolen goods
