someone will make the 1200s under licence if panasonic really cut it. it would be money for nothing to them, and a decent revenue stream for some small player
-
can't complain about that as a starting kit
-
worth a try. make sure if you go into a store you test them, everyone likes and hears something different. also, take tracks you know well so you can hear the differences over different speakers.
-
Just gone poking after this thread, 3030a for $470 at djcity seems worth a look
-
Not sure on the 103x range but the 203x models have always been well regarded for the price. Seen the 1030a for under 300 a pair. But if you go a bit higher than the 203X, $7-800 you'll find abstep up in quality. Yamaha hs80, mackies etc Remember that monitors sit very close to you, an 8 inch model may be too loud in that setting and create bass issues I'm a small, untreated room Head to a store with a few CDs you know well and demo them all. Djwarehouse has a decent room setup just for this
-
Yep, was $29 at spank. They had fluroro bye and green, I got the last orange. Also had clear, white and some others
-
Extra traktor control record for 3rd deck. Went for the classic colour. Fluoro orange.

No ones heard the chewbacca defense before then?
-
Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests. sorry, but that pops into my head every time it doesn't make sense is uttered

could have arrived by sea mail in that time

found an old track I really like but never found about 4 years ago.. stll cannot find a digital copy, only a couple on vinyl on ebay uk. even my normal failsafe option of buying an old cd single from uk is not cutting it this time. infusion - girls can be cruel (infusion sq'd mix). if anyone comes across it on their searches, please let me know

sydney is generally crap for trance these days, there's no regular events. Arty is coming to town soon, not sure where that is though. checkout trancetribe.com, that's a good sydney based trance forum
-
2* AA htd4.5's for $250. one needs new tone arm rest and a light, probably $15 for them. apart from that work fine but clearly well used. figure I can put one on ebay, and I've got the 3rd deck for not much.
-
could be a good time of year to buy. people need money before christmas, other folks away on holidays
-
listen to dj sets on line, find nice track, explore producers other tracks, follow people who bought this also bought, check stuff by that producer etc. Trawling the top 100, or the 1000's of new releases may be a structured approach but I tend to find less stuff that way compared to the whereever the trail leads approach.
-
trance is the easiest, but also the most limiting. relatively similar bpm range, easy beats. The problem comes as it is so full of melodies that it really limits what you can do with it. but for practising it works ok, just mix outro to intro. PVD's tracks tho (not his most recent poppy stuff) is good to learn on
-
they may be 2 generations old but that's still a great buy at that price. Thoe things can play 2 tracks off the same disc, so almost like having 4 decks
-
not easy to run off with subs though
-
I can see a new thread in the future - australia post got lazy and dropped my long awaited package on the doorstep and now it's gone. or the aus post got lazy and just left a "sorry missed you card" and now your TSP is at the post office but it's closed for christmas thread. hope you guys all got them sent to your work addresses
-
go audition with a couple of tracks you know well. see ifyou hear the details, is the bass overwhelming other parts etc. keep in min an 8 inch model may be too loud in a unit, but will produce bass better. 5 inch may be better in general and with a sub will still reach low when needed. if a store doesn't have a decent listening setup go somewhere else at least to try them all out
-
always has been cheaper to import from UK, so long as you're not paying shipping on one record at a time. And that was the case back at 35p to the dollar, even more so now you get over 60. juno and chemical records were the main places I used
-
http://webshop.cashconverters.com.au/it ... storeID=89 $699 not bad.
-
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Vestax-Turntable ... 3362cc0afd would probably pay $200 for that, pity he doesn't want to ship
-
http://en.item.rakuten.com/dj/sl-1200mk6/#estimationOf bit more than $100 a deck there. many sites won't ship out of japan. I'd definitely hit up the family to bring them back, do the research. also be aware as the mk6 was a japan only model if only runs on 110v power, other models may do 110 & 220-240. mk5 may be easier that way, plus for any spares, and half the price
-
0.02 @ +/-6%, 0.05 at +/- 10 1000's are probably overkill given things like wave display, hot cues and looping are better in the software anyway, and the mk1's are pretty old now
