wasting many hours on the pc version of that

can i suggest the first thing you do when you get some money out of him is spent $100 on a huge hard drive to back this stuff up? plenty of people have asked beatport nicely when they've had disk failures and been allowed to re-download tracks they already bought, worth asking the question. bre-burning several hundred discs, that's going to suck

90% of using a loop to good effect remains in the art of making it sound good, picking the right 2-3 pieces of music to overlay . The only time a loop is really useful without any real thought to how well things go together is for extending a beat in order to match the next song

spank records closing down isa very sad day, though with vinyl sales being so slow was inevitable. I made a poitn to go there whenever I needed new stuff (TSP, new control records), service was always top notch, unlike a lot of other dj stores that had a snobby attitude.

the 3500's are hardly dj gear on a budget, they're a pretty solid player. one of my cdj800's had to go in twice for major repairs under warranty, eject mechanism fails then the whole main board had to be replaced. Electronics have a failure rate, shit happens to even then best product

i spent some time at the otto bin factory a few years ago. All the plastics are 99% the same black/gray plastic, then you chuck in a handful of the coloured stuff to get red, yellow etc. not painted my vote is that the black ones contain dark matter

got a crappy old ibm R52 laptop here, so bad it was chucked out at my old job. pentium M, 1.86GHz. 2gb ram on XP. Only really used for my kids reading games and TSP. handles trakor just fine. I did get some crap on it that slowed everything down, just restored O/S to a couple of months ago sagve point and it runs nicely again

Having some issues using a laptop when playing out.

Heat would be my first thought but if it's whilst you are setting up it shouldnt be that hot. Try starting up away from that speaker to isolate if it's the vibrations -
not ordered in a while but I used to get them in about a week. one time an order from chemical records took about 6 weeks cos they tried using swedish mail or somehting like that, they soon changed. Apart from that one order, pretty much everythign from UK takes about a week

Try to start and stop a stopwatch as Fast as you can. At best you might get 10ms. The difference between 1 & 5 is not going to be noticeable, but processor trying up keep up may struggle. Might bd ok most of the time but I'd still expect drop out now and then

Vxt range I'd say go fit it if you can afford. Certainly a step up on the rockits

Pandora and the like is the future, subscription services offering whole fatalities. Just hope music labels recognize that and get on board totally. Otherwise well have the stupid situation where you have to pick which subscription service you want based on what label they offer. Like early pay tv in oz, do you want league or afl. You can't have both.

christ man, r u serious? i've had my beyer dynamic dt770 for reference monitoring for 6 years now but i've never had a set of dj cans last a year $70 bucks well spent. Actually got 2 since the price was good, so we'll be 8 more generations in the market before I go looking Do a lot if full headphone monitoring, and with a young kid a decent amount if mixing just in the phones, bur dong use them for general listening

Djim. They also do volume rebates here so it's not as simple a calc. They might pay $500 a unit but if they sell a hundred they get $x back. If you are lucky enough to walk in near the end of the rebate period and they're just short of target you can get below the invoice figure. Until a couple of months ago I was support manager for the company that did pioneers sale system. The retail margins on cdjs and djm's is very tight, really those volume rebates are what the bigger dj shops are chasing.

I got a scratching lesson at dj warehouse in Sydney from my sister. Wasnt bad but really was no better than if you oil a six pack to a friends place for a few pointers. If you don't know anyone would be ok I guess

Old Pio sedj5000s. Almost 10 years old never had any reason to look at updating them. Fit well, sound good to me. Mo brittle parts like the newer pioneers.

I got the rca cables and ground wires replaced on both my tt's, as well as service and the zero notch removed for $60 a deck. as for the tone arm clip, I got one for an AAhtd 4.5 for $10 from lightsounds, they had to order in from the warehouse though. Still haven't managed to fit it cos it needs a tiny right angled screwdriver that I haven't found yet
-
got to with djim, when I used time code cd's it's every bit as easy as using normal cd's, no pitch drift or anything. master tempo will stuff it all up though so make sure that's off

haven't played MK since MK2, but shit did I waste a lot of time when I should have been studying. scorpion was easily the best then. is there a pc version of that available? might have to invest in a fight stick then bought mself a logitech g27 today about to get shift 2 and waste a lot of time over the weekend. oh and a nice bottle of pinot, had fun just exploring that variety of late

at home it's a pretty even mix of all of the above. depends on what sort of mood I'm in. tsp with control records when I'm just mixing the newer stuff since I rarely by new vinyl, midi control if I'm looping, hot cueing trying to be creative, cd's whenever it means moving stuff around

following threads over at whirlpool people are even importing 4 tyres for their car for huge savings. sws how much we get ripped off when you can pay to ship 1 set and get t so much cheaper than mass imported stuff
-
there's a 4 page thread only a handful of threads below this one
