  1. thought someone might be interested, was in parramatta today went past cash converters, they had 2 american audio HTD4.5's for $199 each. these are the super OEM turntables, basically the same as the stanton 150's. A friend had a pair, and I must say after an all night party set on them, I much preferred them to my technics. they also had some pretty cheap vextax pdx2000s. I'm almost convincing myself I want a 3rd tt, but someone might want these.
  2. I've heard decent things about the DDM. It's not as dodgy as behringers of the past, but for the price and features, something has to give so I wouldn't expect it to last forever.
  3. another lunchtime mix from yesterday, some more up to date trance, well mostly. only an hour but was recorded at 320, haven't taken time to normalise or downsize it yet http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ONOQNB2Q Oliver Smith - restless (Original Mix) John Deere - No Compromise (original mix) DJ Shah - Lost (Dance version) Ridgewalkers - Find (Andy Moor mix) Elevation - Biscayne (Original Mix) Cressida - Onyric (Stoneface & Terminal Mix) Coast 2 Coast - home value (rob G digital mashup) Daniel Wanrooy - City Nights (Original Mix) Rafael Frost - Red (Ferry Corsten Mix) Gareth Emery & Bobina - Time and Tide (Gareth Emery Remix) Ummet Ozcan - Time Wave Zero (Original Mix) Breakfast - Remember (Original Mix) Fast Distance - Pacifica (Temple One Remix) Above & Beyond - Tri State (Robert Nickson Intro Remix)
  4. leaving work now, should be home for a 630 start with some new trance
  5. not sure about wise investment but sure look like a lot of fun.
  6. features - for sure. reliability - it sucks 4 decks, effects, hot cues, loops, it's great fun. but every time there's something different that goes wrong, it randomly loses settings, a deck won't play in absolute mode. most of the time it's nothing you can't work around, but I still would not ever start a traktor set without a cdj wallet nearby. maybe next release will be stable. but I've said that for the last 4 point releases before this I was using djdecks as a DVS, and if it was just DVS I was using, that would sitll be the pick of the lot, I found it better than serato, just as stable, and you can talk directly to the guy who writes the code, support is by far the best of all packages, even though it's one person doing it all
  7. had a shocker last night. traktor decided to change a setting by itself that i couldn't figure out, so I spent the whole time battling the software. Once you start doing that you don't think about track selection very well, and mixing was a fight the whole way, pretty much as crap as it can get, really wasn't enjoying myself. next free hour or so I get, back to the records, much more relaxing.
  8. depends on what you want. djwarehouse is offering trade in of the SL1 when you upgrade to an SL3, but they're sitll charging you $700+ for that upgrade. no idea what they are reselling the sl1's for. and remember the serato software is free, you can download it anytime and mess about with keyboards, but you need the hardware to open up the time-code function
  9. http://www.blacklabelled.com/bl/downloa ... .php?cid=1 scoot around that site for acapellas, or just google movie audio samples for some good stuff. but i call dib's on jon belushi's great speach in animal house.
  10. sl-3 is just an update on the sl-1 soundcard. it has an extra output and better sound quality, though the serato software doesn't support a 3rd deck yet, so if you buy it now you are only getting better sound. maybe when something comes of this partnership with ableton this thing will show it's potential, for now I think it was done mostly for the sake of releasing something, all their competitors have made major release whilst seratos really not done a lot.
  11. idrink.com used to be an awesome site for that. pick off a list all the stuff you have, it lists all the drinks you could make from them with user ratings. anyway, back to topic....
  12. wholesale prices are ridiculous now, anyone thinking of buying should get in at the prices flavboy mentioned lukizm, you mean the original technics cdj's from the mid 90's? or the sldz1200, looked good, worked not so good. the 3700 looks great, but I can't see why they decided not to calculate wave display from a cd, only from usb files where the wave display is stored in a related file.
  13. not 1000's, but just got mail about storedj sale, 800's for 849 for members. 6 months ago that would have only been an ok price, but now that's a very good price
  14. can't make it tonight, still working
  15. peer reviews of mix submissions
  16. lukizm apatr from needing to get it repaired, how is that troublemaker system?
  17. pioneer in aus at least don't track serial numbers to the original sale, only when it comes in for repair. They also state in their terms that they do not offer warranty on sales via ebay. you might get lucky and they'll accept it but if they stick to official policy you'll be out of luck there.
  18. checking in for the 630-8 slot, that's 630-8 for you queenslanders too
  19. backwards = more weight for heavy handed scratchers. Kind of like putting blue tack and a coin on top of the cartidge to stop skipping, but you get worse record wear out of it
  20. hopping on in 15 minutes for the 630-8 slot ,that's 530-7 for those of you on the north side of the border. 90 minutes of progressive bombs
  21. tubby

    ADJF comps

with pretty much everyone here playing a different genre I'd like to see what track you pick. Or better yet how everyone manages to make it fit. 30 min mix is probably best, 10-20 minute is only time for tricks, 60 minutes too long for us to all listen to every mix put in
  22. back from holidays and jumping on for another lunchitme trance set. beatport managed to screw up the downloads of my new prog tunes so will hit them up tomorrow night, unless I decide to head over the road to catch socceroos qualify for WC
  23. anyone had their 1200's serviced recently? I figure it's about time I got it done, and also to see if I can get the 0 indent removed, gets annoying sometimes, and the old decks have a decent dead area about it. any idea how much to get servicing, modification, possibly new RCA's installed?
  24. was 630-8pm, but I don't think anyone else is doing wednesdaysso far, so you could take the whole evening
  25. I'm off for two weeks holidays tonight, so anyone else care to take over the wednesday night slot?
